So.. One of the best gaming companies in the world (Paradox) have released yet another game, based during the Sengoku-period of Japan. I really recommend it. :D

Any idea when it's going to be in playable condition? :D

Looking good nonetheless.

Here's (http://www.rtsguru.com/game/306/features/201/Sengoku-Review-You-are-pulling-all-the-strings-in-Japan.html) a review written by a co-worker. I'm still disappointed over not getting the review.

It's the most polished title that Paradox has released. Ever.

I disagree with one big thing that your "co-worker" wrote. The campaign isn't necessarily long (depending on which character/damiyo/clan you choose, ofc). I chose Uesugi and I completed the game within a few hours.
Uesugi has so many small nations around it (especially to the northeast) so you can just expand, expand and expand without having to step on the toes of the larger nations. After finishing expanding to the northeast I never had to use levies again and just let my damiyos do the fighting while I sat back and relaxed.
I didn't use plots during this game, however. :)

Tomorrow I'll play as a damiyo within the shimazo-clan and see how long it will take to win. :)

I was certain this was about some Japanese freakish porn. Boy was I disappointed.

Beat last night as one of the easy factions. The game can pretty much be won on autoplay. Just monitor your lords to be loyal to you and stamp out anyone that fails to understand that.

I imagine playing as one of the vassals would suck hardcore. Gona try it in a month or two.

edit:

One of the lords rebelled against me so I had him assassinated. His heir rejoined my clan. I stripped away their lands and all of them started to hate on me. So I started to kill them all off one by one. I forced his sister to commit sepoku by dishonoring her. She had characteristics inbred and imbecile. Yup I killed everyone in a rival family down to a retarded no one.

Played as the easiest clan in the game.. and failed. Played as Uesugi and conquered almost half of the map. "I win!!" I thought but oh man was I in for a treat. Apparently the second largest clan (Shimazo), 2 of my Daimyos and 3 of my lesser vassals had plotted against me and coordinated an attack. In return I raised all my levies but got bankrupt within a few months (didn't pay attention to my economy *sadface*) and from that even more vassals broke free from my clan. FML. :(

LOL I played as them too. The Nagao are not happy from beginning and will plat to break free. So what you need to do is take away their lands and spread them out. So when they do revolt you can crush them in isolated pockets.

The game is remarkably lacking in AI/repercussions/events and seems more bare than typical EU/Paradox games.

But still fun, and the campaign was as fun as Shogun Total War's.

Though its easy as fuck. I mean, I can declare and invade nations which in a matter of months take over Japan. EU's scenerio version took much much longer.

I think this one is meant to be done in multiplayer.
