[EU] Agon Shipping Co. Escourt

(My sub ran out yesterday, but since I completely forgot to transfer my house over and bank to a friend I ended up resubbing for another month, YAY!!...)

So, because I have one whole month of game time now, I figured I would do another community event. That last one went well and was a lot of fun, it just lacked having the whole server at it as there were many sieges going on.

This event is an escourting mission.

Agon shipping company has an important high value shipment that must be delivered a long distance away. With the increase in pirating from the notorious Black Pirates, and other smaller pirating groups, this sort of delivery is nearly impossible without being attacked and risking everything on board.

Agon Shipping Company is looking for any and all willing clans to escourt or pilot the Agon Shipping Company's Ship.

The job is on a first come first serve basis, however in the highly possible, but most unlikely case that the crew who escourts us is somehow wiped out, the next group to arrive will be very welcome to continue to escourt us and recieve the full reward.

The Black Pirates are offering rewards for the cargo carried on the Agon Shipping Company's ship.

It is rumored that they might also pay a bounty to whoever destroys the Agon Shipping Co's ship, but this is still unverified as there has been nothing official from the group. Most tend to stay away from them as they cannot be trusted in any way.

Additional details for the event will be posted below.

Rewards and the exact manner in which they can be earned will be posted as the time draws closer to the event's date.

Concerning Rewards and Tasks to recieve them

Cargo: The cargo on the ship will have a set value per percentage of it. It will be a non-valuable material to avoid people taking it just to run off with it. It will also be accounted for. The Black Pirates will pay 50% of what value the Agon Shipping companies value for it is. (more profitable to escourt, than to pirate) The Black Pirates will pay for any quantity of the cargo, Agon Shipping will only pay for a bulk amount (50%+) and only to the first delivery. Each portion of cargo is worth 6k gold when turned in to the cargo's destination. If turned in to the Black Pirates they will pay 3k per cargo portion.

Main Reward: This is the biggest reward available and is recieved by turning in the ship and ship master to the end point. This reward is increased if 100% of the Cargo is aboard, this reward is decreased if under 50% is aboard.

Ship Capture Reward: A Medium reward is paid to whoever captures the Cargo Ship, and brings it to the Black Pirates.

Random Loot: There will be decent loot to be gathered by killing Black Pirates...


Additional Notes/FAQ

-People and clans acting in this event are: "Black Pirates" clan, "DF Event" clan, and "Nym Exclipse" of Lux Arcana.

-A method to account for cargo has been worked out, the cargo cannot be replicated so if it is lost or deleted it is gone, and you will not be able to replace it as it is marked specially. Cargo shall not be banked.

-There will be a Ship Master character on board the ship, he is just as important to keep alive as the ship itself.

-If the ship is despawned at any point other than at the delivery point then the main reward is no longer valid.

-The final delivery point will not be released until on the last leg of the trip, the Ship Master is your guide for where to travel. (This is to avoid people banking cargo and simply porting to the end)

Not a fan of porting all over the place myself, but DFs game mechanics can be discussed other places.

Also you cannot use runes overweight ;)

And portal networks are not applicable for the start and end locations.

This is the main reason Ships fail, if ppl actually had a purpose like a route they could do to make money you would see alot more of smallish clans renting boat space etc.

Or simply being boat men and the pirates would have somebody to fight, now add local banking onto that and we are on a roll..

Still not sure if I can give a reward for destroying Agon Shipping Co's ship as there is not a good way of proving who sunk it.

If I cannot settle with a reward for sinking than a reward will be given to whoever captures and despawns it.

In the second post there is a link to the "Action map" (http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/100/agon.jpg) This map will give up to date information on where the Agon Shipping Co. Ship has been and may likely be heading, as well as other clues.

Packages worth extra bonuses can be collected along the way, the locations of these will be given out by Master Bob, located on the Agon Shipping Co boat, these locations will be made public after the boats current crew has been given a slight head start.

These are material rewards, however these locations will be stopped at regardless of the crew wanting to get the reward or not.

The package for these rewards will be received from "Nym Exclipse" if you are ship crew, I suggest you get it nicely from Nym, anyone else, slaughter, gank, loot and do what you will. Nym won't move around to much, so the ship crew will have to move in to Nym's location.

SUN thanks Nym Exclipse and the participating Lux members for making this event. Logged in hoping to find some action and heard there was a lot happening at Zaghuroth, which was definitely a fun fight.

The stop points were placed at harbors near populated holdings on the main continent's coastline, also allowing people on fast mounts to catch up to the ship. Was a pretty well-planned route but surprised there wasn't much action near Gulghat and Silvertown.

Anyway, hope to see you back soon Nym. Thanks for the fun!
