Brazil is another slab of Terry Gilliam's genius. If you've enjoyed any of his films you've got to give it a watch.

I enjoyed The Signal. I went in with absolutely no idea what the film was about, and it was a lot of fun.

Lawrence of Arabia
Long long movie, the last great epic(Huge cast, shot on location, big budget, old school special effects because computers back then sucked.

#1 movie of all time, so sayeth just about every movie buff. Also it has great replay value(You can watch it multiple times over the course of a lifetime)

An inordinately complex man who has been labeled everything from hero, to charlatan, to sadist, Thomas Edward Lawrence blazed his way to glory in the Arabian desert, then sought anonymity as a common soldier under an assumed name. The story opens with the death of Lawrence in a motorcycle accident in London at the age of 47, then flashbacks to recount his adventures: as a young intelligence officer in Cairo in 1916, he is given leave to investigate the progress of the Arab revolt against the Turks in World War I. In the desert, he organizes a guerrilla army and--for two years--leads the Arabs in harassing the Turks with desert raids, train-wrecking and camel attacks. Eventually, he leads his army northward and helps a British General destroy the power of the Ottoman Empire.

I seen the season of the witch...the acting had me laughing at times, the characters were okay, and I didn't really mind Nick Cage dying as much as I did for his sidekick. The girl is a demon not a witch by the way, and everyone except the possessed girl and the altar boy die. I'll save you the trouble so you won't have to watch it.

Seen that Ink movie very well done, but sadly I knew off the bat the drifter was the main character. Really worth watching though.

Yeah I agree on the bastardization (didn't see Kingdom of Heaven uncut yet though, saw the theater version). It's mainly because Scott is a much more of a studio director as opposed to auteurs like the Coen Brothers or Woody Allen who have final cut on everything they do for a reason. Ridley went a different route, though it probably was never by choice, ironically I'd even say his brother is more of an auteur than he is, though less 'successful'. Either way, it's really sad seeing how moronic and played down films get for theatrical release, but capitalism be capitalism.

My wife and I have had Netflix. We probably have watched a movie a day for years....its hard to remember all the names of the good films. Plus, my taste in films is really diversified. I don't compare films like "The Toxic Avenger" and "Gone with the Wind" against each other. They are both good films in there own way. Most of what I wrote below is random thoughts. There are so many good, and bad, films out there.

I didn't think it was a great film, but "The Antichrist" with Willem Dafoe has a scene in it most men won't soon forget. OOOOOUUUUUCCCCCHHHH!!!!!

I can't believe there is a re-make of "I Spit on Your Grave" coming out...if you like the band the Misfits, you'll like Ghoultown who have a song written about this movie. I love Ghoultown.

The "Cube" series of movies was pretty good and often overlooked. Be sure to watch the prequel last though. The first one is the best.

"Memento" and "Inception" are both very original films. I will continue to keep my eye on this guy's films. "Memento" is probably one of the most intelligent films I've ever seen. I don't think there will ever be a film made again that forces you to effectively have the main character's disability. Hope nobody here has a real name "John G." for your own safety.

The only show I can compare to "Memento" is "Primer," but they aren't really much alike at all. If anyone could truly explain "Primer" to me, it would be appreciated.

"The Stoning of Soraya M.," "Bordertown", and "Defiance" are interesting, real life films that stick out in my head.

"The Life of Bryan" is an easily over-looked Monty Python film. I don't know why "The Last Temptation of Christ" took so much heat and "The Life of Bryan" wasn't protested at all...

"Reign Over Me" is a must-see film. It may have Adam Sandler, but its not a comedy. Don't miss this one.

A hard movie to find, but the film "The Rapture" has an ending that still haunts me to this day. A bit of a long film, but well worth it (like "Paris, Texas"). I can't think of another film that has influenced me in real life as much as
"The Rapture." It has Mimi Rogers and David Duchovny. There are a few lines in "Bulletproof Heart" that were also pretty hardhitting. "I have to push the rock up the hill...."

"Slumdog Millionaire" was a film I didn't want to watch at first because it sounded stupid. However, I was wrong about that. Its a great film.

"Band of Brothers" is really good if you liked "Saving Private Ryan." I haven't watched "The Pacific" series yet.

"Hide and Creep" is fun zombie film. I like it better than "Zombieland" or "Shaun of the Dead." (Although I thought those films were fun too, not the greatest films, but fun nonetheless).

"Blood Sucking Freaks" or "Necromantic" if you want to feel truly sick.

"Spartacus: Blood and Sand" is a complete rip-off of "300" and "Gladiator," but it can pass the time if you can't find anything else.

"The Secret Life of Words," "Lovely, Still," "After.Life," "True Romance," and "Fight Club" all come to mind.

I found "Lost" to be really addictive, but I think there are just as many people who really hated this series.

If you want to watch movies that are currently in theaters(and more), go to http://www.ch131.com/ and hit the movies tab to the left. I only watch the streaming shows because I don't trust the downloading. I think I'm going to watch "127 Hours" soon. I'm a big fan of the "Walking Dead" prior to it being made into a tv show. It can be found on this website also. I liked the "Walking Dead," but I'm pretty biased. I'm guessing its a pretty average series to most people.

Primarily, this is list of films that I would classify as 'good' but some of them are 'epic' to me. I consider "The Toxic Avenger," "The Rapture," and more to be epic, but I doubt most would agree.

Again, these are just some random thoughts. GL.
