To help "speed" the process of distribution you could obtain seedboxes in the US, AU, UK, EMEA to stage the content.

These seedboxes are cheap and you wouldn't need to pay for them all year. You could stage the torrent file on these seedboxes and have them part of the swarm before posting the link to everyone.

This could also ease the load of seeding the file on your GNI connections or EU facility.

i started the df patcher soon as it was available, but it was crazy slow...so i downloaded the files from the torrent, copied them over the other ones, and should be good.

BUT, when i run DF it starts trying to download the patch through the patcher again..?


am i screwed because i started the patcher and once you start it has to finish that route? or is there a way to force it to use the new files i downloaded and put in the right place..?

You can help others download the torrent by...

keeping your torrent software open/loaded, with its downloaded files in place, once you're finished downloading. By doing this, you become a seeder, which is how a torrent is either fast or slow.

So copy the files over to your Darkfall data folder, but keeping your torrent folder intact is possible.

Me again : sorry to bother, but just a question. In the logic of a torrent, shouldn't the download be generally greater or equal to the upload (sharing)? My download had become way lower than my uploading/sharing speed, so I stopped it.

I will answer, but I think you were a bit lazy when you posted this question (the answer being many places on this forum). The 19 files have the exact same names as the 19 files you must replace (copy over). They are at :

[your disk, usually C:\\] Program Files\Darkfall US\data\

If you are on the EU server, it will say ... Darkfall\data\ instead

Many people after downloading the torrent just stop the seeding of the torrent,i uploaded 120 gb myself.If the admins were giving some in game prizes for the people who uploaded more than 90gb for example,there would be more seeders for everyone ;)
