Constitution get hit by infliction dmg dots such as rend needles and so on
Defence get hit by physical melee damage i beleive
Willpower get hit by confusion
Fortitude is elemental aoe dmg

They should say what they do in description all you need to do it get hit by what it protect you from.

That sounds reasonable but ignore pain says its grands protection against weapon damage but levels by poison damage.

Rigor gives protection from all attack types, and ignore pain is a sub skill from rigor(75).
