Anyone played in beta? Is this like a spiritual successor to the Heroes Of Might And Magic games?

Just looking for some feedback... looks promising but I can't tell much as far as the game goes from skimming their forums.

Haven't played beta, but from what I've gathered it doesn't have much common with HOMMs. It's more like successor to Master of Magic, kind of empire-building/4x game (Civilizations, Master of Orion) with added RPG elements.

I've been registered for beta since before the launch of the phase 1 alpha.

Right now it's in the earlier stages, so it's fairly baisc. However, it's pretty clear, even from these early stages, that the game is going to be awesome. The multiplayer beta should be coming out within the next few weeks, and that will, supposedly, be far more polished, with a decent bit more content, and be considered "30% of the final product".

I'd say ask again once 1.z or 2.a comes out.
