Firstly, loving the game. Loving the look. Loving the playability and the PvP. One minor issue. Am I the only one who feels like I have entered an empty world?

I don't mean empty of players. I mean empty of NPCs. Apart from the odd merchant. There seems to be nothing but ghost towns. Anyone here ever play Oblivion or Morrowind? Now I am not saying that the developers should try and copy either of those games but I think that atmosphere is a big element to how a game feels.

Right now it feels like I am a character running around in a world that died in years gone by and the only survivors are the players picking through the remnants of the world like vultures on a skeleton and a few stationary, statue like merchants.

All this having been said, I am very new to the game and have only been to about 5 different towns, all in close proximity so ignore this if it is only the low level areas that are this quiet.

Yeah it would be cool, also random npc's that go out and gather nodes. It would make a reason for people to group up and travel more on raids around the starter areas again. Usually the starter areas are a few steps away from cities... etc..

They actually addressed this at launch. Their intentions for not having NPCs is because they don't want the players interacting with a predesigned world. They want the players to create the world. Their eventual goals are to have us be the townspeople. In it's current form, it's not something that will really happen, but hopefully with new features and new players wishing to create a community as opposed to a warzone, the game will reach this goal.

I can understand this being the case for player controlled hamlets, towns and cities. For the already existing cities it would be a good addition though. I just think that atmosphere adds a lot to a game and this game, while already amazing, still has quite a lot of room for improvement.
