So, I tried to put together some random video clips and editing them into some sort of movie, but I run into a problem. The only software I have to do this with is Windows Movie Maker atm. Yes, you guessed it...it sucks!
ʹm sure all you artistic ppl around here have tons of experience in these things, so could you suggest a nice and relatively easy program to use?
Thx in advance :)

The only thing I know of is in the price range that youd have to steal it. And we all know stealing software is wrong.
Adobie Production Studio is pretty bitching. And if you have a mack go and mug some smuck walking out of the mack store with Final Cut Studio. their both $1,000+ so I have no idea how serious you are going to get with this. The mac one is a little bit smoother to operate in my opinion.
What are you trying to do?
I've used Windows Movie Maker for basic editing no prob. The only thing I couldn't do was long, overlapping fades.
Anyways, Photoshop has a something called Photoshop Premiere (I think it is). It runs for about $100.00. Just gotta make sure your computer can handle the software.

Magix or Avid imo, if you want some kind of professional program.
Yeah, the best is Adobe Premiere like Zuku wrote above. Easy and you dont have complicated functions.

But if he gets Adobe Production Studio which is $1700 it comes with Adobe After Effects Pro which is worth $1000, plus it comes with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 ($850), PhotoShop CS2 ($650), Audition 2.0 ($350), Encore DVD 2.0 ($350), and Illustrator CS2 ($500). So you save $2000 from getting Adobe Production Studio Premium.

Taken from my guild forums:
"Watching shadowbane recordings: FRAPS version 2.6.4 , Capturing 60 frames per second for the best quality.
Editing Clips: Sony Vegas Video version 6.0, this is where you'll spend most of your time.
Other useful stuff: Photoshop, Audicity/goldwave for editing sound but vegas is really good for editing sound too, downloading songs and stuff: Soulseek!
This is how last 2 minits look like of my last video in Sony vegas:"

"Dont think you'll need any tutorials. Fuck around with it for hour and you'll be able to do most. Couple useful stuff:
Insert>Video/audio Envelopes>Event Velocity/Volume (this is where you change the speed on the video/volume)
Under "Video FX" are alot cool things to play around with.
Hotkeys: Space=play/stop, S=cut clip
Cameras/zooming, chaning colors/flashes etc.. is a bit tougher. There it's all about keyframes, catch me in vent to tell you about that one.
Edit: In the SS you dont see any of the effects/zooming/coloring/keyframes etc."
Hope this helped anything. That SS is from my last movie which is linked in my
sig.
VirtualDubMod is free and gets the job done.
Adobe Premiere has more features and easy to add transition effects.
I only use Premiere when I want to add effects and such, VirtualDub is way lighter program aswell
No experience from vegas though, so cant compare.
