View Full Version : Make transmutes do 100% elemental damage (FIX)

Make transmuted weapons do 1 single hit of pure elemental damage. the same amount of damage but not split into 2 hits, one of physical and one of elemental.

WHY?

1. to fix people bypassing the damage cap with transmuted weapons. this is especially imbalancing mounted combat. you see people QQ'ing about mounted combat when really its fine, its just transmutes being exploited to bypass damage cap.

2. to fix pve. some mobs are almost completely immune to mele and bow damage and only take certain elemental damage. and current transmutes do no do enough elemental damage to allow non mages to kill many of the mobs in the game nearly as efficiently.

3. [admitted not a major issue] another exploit is people can easily grief transmute users by running in front of their swing making them go grey for 5 min instantly, and they can kill w/o losing allignment/or abuse towers. this again is because of the stupid 2 hit system.

This should not be an issue. Starter towns are for noobs, and noobs shouldn't be using transmuted weapons to farm goblins etc. in tower range.

Making them 100% elemental will also make them useless against most mobs in PvE, which will make them worse.

I agree. i've never had the problem myself just thought I'd add it as another lil extra it would fix. but even outside of starter towns you can use the exploit to not lose alignment for killing someone mobbing.

Making them 100% elemental will also make them useless against most mobs in PvE, which will make them worse.

what are you talking about?
just use say slashing sword for mobs weak to slashing, fire sword for mobs immune to slashing but weak to fire etc. its quite simple. alot better than only being able to those those "most mobs" but none of the others. sorry but fail logic there.

And please explain this damage cap on mounts? All i'm aware of is 50 for a mount kick and 70 for a backkick, right? I do more than that with a regular non-transmuted weapon doing regular swings ... there isn't a damage cap for regular swings as far as i'm aware.

Well, I don't know about you, but I hate farming. I hate the PvE change to be honest. I think mobs were fine before this change. Magic was viable, Archery was viable, Melee was viable. Non of this farming specific mats just so you can farm another mob with a new weapon / magic school bollocks. Best way to farm now, by far, is with a battlehorn and 1H wep.

there isn't a damage cap for regular swings as far as i'm aware.There is - 90 damage is the cap per hit. That is where transmutes come in. With high mastery, mounted, with a good transmuted 1h weapon, you can do 90 physical + some elemental (I've seen up to 60 elemental for a total of 150 per hit).

This usually only works for backshots and it's usually the case of Destroyer vs mage


and for OP, we already have melee weapons that are 100% elemental - Sithras.
Whether Sithras should get better and/or cheaper is another topic all together.

while I might agree, pve was better before, its besides the point. making a thread suggestioning complete pve rollback would not be constructive, this suggestion fixes alot of my gripes with the new system and also would fix other things which are practically exploits. and therefor is a constructive suggestion instead of another QQ post.
