GoDs Wrath Clan (www.godswrathclan.net) (GoD) is an "old-school" guild originating in Ultima Online: Great Lakes in 1997. I won't go into our past endeavors as those who know us know of us, and those who don't know us will learn of us at the release of the game. Anyone interested can read our history (http://www.godswrathclan.net/lore.php?lore=history). Our guild's purpose is quite simple; to provide amusement for its members. Some of the requirements to join however, are for members to be vindictive, ruthless, and display just a hint of sadism. These qualities found in all our members steer our guild into a very competitive gaming environment.
GoD is interested only in games that provide frequent PvP action (UO, SB, DAoC PvP servers, etc.) and has no interest in games that restrict our ability to carry out our favorite pastime; PKing. We are driven by our ambition to be the most effective killers and strive to use innovative ideas in our raids, character builds, and tactics. At the same time we are also relaxed, and do not employ the semi-militaristic style of gaming that some guilds utilize. We have very few rules (http://www.godswrathclan.net/info.php?info=rules) and as opposed to orders and pre-made plans, we rely on our ability to think as a group and react on the spot.
The majority of GoD has been with the guild for a number of years, and we only look for members who are looking to put down roots. We run a lean team and prefer quality to quantity. While this preference has hurt us in certain situations, it allows us to maintain a camaraderie between each other to the point that many members often hang out together or keep informed about each others irl events (such as when our resident police officer owned a 13 year old girls PvP skills...by shooting her in the hand) as well as holding annual "Reunions" for our members to congregate and get smashed, paintball, etc.
GoD is by no means a "griefer" guild - but that does not prevent us from having a laugh (http://www.godswrathclan.net/lore.php?lore=stories&story=09) at someone elses expense. Some of our fondest memories are of punishing a group of people for previous behavior, overcoming insurmountable odds (http://www.godswrathclan.net/lore.php?lore=stories&story=02), and just being gleefully cruel to some random fellow (http://www.godswrathclan.net/lore.php?lore=stories&story=11). We frown upon boorish behavior such as ganking newbies (that obviously possess no loot), cheating, and shit talking (when undeserved). However, there is always the exception to the rule.
Our recruiting policy is rather selective. Potential members will join on as a trial recruit. If they pass the cursory inspection by their sponsor they will be taken on as a recruit. The recruit stage generally takes little over a month, during which recruits will be observed and measured to be sure they possess both the ability and attitude necessary, after which point recruits are bumped to full members (http://www.godswrathclan.net/info.php?info=ranks). The exception to this is applicants currently playing a game the guild does not play, with the intention of joining us for Darkfall, in which case applicants are put onto the recruit list so long as they remain in communication.
We are currently burning time, eagerly awaiting the release of Darkfall. Our members are occupying their time playing whatever suits their fancy, which includes but is not limited to; DoTA CAL-M, WoW, SB, DAoC, and the weekly Open Beta Kreen MMO. We have already set our sights on Darkfall and have trouble maintaining interest in any other endeavors to the point that we have declined to have our DoTA team sponsored.
We currently boast 28 active members and are looking to pick up a half dozen or so for the release of Darkfall, if after reading this you think you have what it takes, read this (http://www.godswrathclan.net/info.php?info=membership) and I'll look forward to hearing from you soon.
