The black strips on the top and bottom make you sig seem skinnier than it is. It would look better if they were a shade of blue and green instead of black, I think. There also is too much open space, since the statue is quite small. However, I do like the green turning to blue that is in the middle the signature.

I like it, it's pretty clean and straightforward, a hooded human ready to strike from atop it's mount. It's layered in four parts I see, background, white strip(nice), human+horse, name + description. The letters (description) could have been a little bit clearer though. 8.4/10

About my sig. I just put two quotes there i liked very much, this was directly after i created my account.

Good overall.
Text could be bit more clear and you realy should use another font for your name...now i always read it as haidline monk.
Background is average, might help if you tried to synk shadows/highlights with the glow around the text/character.
border is simple, but fits the sig to some degree.
Empire legacy text is barely visible, i propably couldn´t read it(or atleast i would have hard time reading it) if i didnt know what it says.

Thanks for the critique, i re-did his sig with a few of your suggestions in mind, i think it came out alot better.

Just like to say... how does his sig not imply guild leadership? It has his rank and his ranks pin, basically you just don't like/understand the EoL rank style. I believe your criticism on that subject is very incorrect. And why does everyone dislike the embevel approach? It keeps sigs from looking flat and stale... i think a 3D effect is really lacking on this forum.

You're getting better at making the EoL sigs, you just need to stop making basic design mistakes. Wind effect is an excellent way to shoot yourself in the foot with an otherwise good looking signature.

Since you're leaning to a more abstract/render type theme with the EoL signatures, I'd recommend registering and taking taking a peeper at the tutorials here. (http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showforum=81) It'll double if not triple your current skill.

I really don't have 40 hours to cut out images with the pen tool though, and for the most part I really find the pen tool a bit over-rated. Right now I just want to learn how to take the renders and apply special effects onto them, kind of like your sig, i like the glow and shine it gives off.

Also, when i publish the sigs, i have to put them in 'gif' so they fit the memory requirements of this site... is there any way i can fix this? Every sig i post comes off a little bit pixelated, so it is never as good as the original product, atm I'm hoping I'm just making a rookie mistake.

As for the wind effect, i know all those effects are cheesy, but something possesed me to apply it, it looked nicer when it was more clean cut in the original version.

You don't have to use the pen tool to cut out a render from a stock. Try looking at the first steps of this (http://www.imagehustler.com/1207/1199678437.png) and this (http://ui10.gamespot.com/809/hellgatetutorial.jpg). Smudging/Erasing is a quick and easy method, but'll make the sig appear more "abstract," which as I said before is ok, because that seems to be the style you're leaning to currently.

I'd PM Haart Maystorm if you want more info on this technique in Photoshop, he has it down better than I do.

And i guess that description was a bit off... I mean the kind of flare effect your image has, I've seen it from a few other sigs. C4D is something i saw in the second link you referred me to, and the same affect is seen in the second one after it is used.

I don´t actualy care who first made it clan standard...allthough i can almost certainly say that you weren´t the first either (atleast if other games are considered). It´s the most basic and easiest thing after stroked border and that´s why it´s easy to make sigs with it, even for total beginners, wich on it´s behalf makes it excellent choice for clans... afterall, then people can get to make their own sigs with minor guidance or one person can make masses of sigs for others.
The very first sig (and 3 following ones too) i made had the said border style and it was over a year ago when i hadn´t even heard about Darkfall, much less of any clans.

What comes to Lotharrs sig, well 4/10.

Hmh, have I rated this before? 8,5. I'd like to see the borders on the horizontal direction too.

The japanese letters on my sig should, in my opinion translated to "Evil hearted knight." As the more direct translate would be "The Evil Knight."
And yeah the colours are kind of.. Light for these forums, the problem is I seriously got ´bored on modifying my old sig, and wanted to try something different.
