These combat stances would give a bonus to attack or a bonus to defence with the side effect would be to increase the damage taken or damage put out. Each stance would have a different idle animation and combat posture. I believe that these should be similar to specialisations which would mean that a player can only chose one.

Stances :

Fury : Increased damage with the penalty of taking more damage.

Stonewall : Increased resistances and decreases incoming damage. Penalty to damage output.

Meditation : Increased stam regen and mana regen at the cost of increased damage taken and damage output.

Ya..and we should be able to make druids with cat form!

and dungeons where we cant be attacked by other people..... oh and why does my lootz keep dropping...that shouldn't happen!

What great ideas.....fresh and never been done!

It's not about whether or not it's been done, it's about making it so that there is variation between characters. Meditation stance would allow players that want to be a buffer / healer have better mana pool for doing so. Those that want to play for a defensive tank type of character can do so; as currently everyone is effectively a copy or everyone else. There is no real way to tank in PvE and there isn't anyway to increase damage besides just having higher skills.

Shoo, troll, this is the suggestion forum not the flame forum.

I like the idea!

could use some tweaking, heres my thoughts to add to the skills OP came up with:

*Edit: all these are +what OP said*

In fury you Drain less stamina while sprint attacking but lose more stamina when taking dmg and when you hit a blocking target. Bonus to bow speed aswell but less dmg so you can really spam arrows.

Stonewall Drains more stamina while sprinting/jumping when attacking but lose less stamina when hit and the hits drain more stamina from the opponent when you block. Slower bow speed but less arch and more dmg for long range and precise shooting.

Meditation do more dmg with spells when the person remains stationary while casting and lose more stamina when sprinting aswell as more mana when casting while jumping! Arrows have a knockback your target back while standing still.

Just some ideas, would make the stonewall stance really really good for just fucking up the other teams stamina. The fury stance would be very much for just going into a flurry dealing out as much dmg as possible and mages would use meditation to max out dmg output!
Would make it even more fun putting a pvp team together where you have all different kinds of players

I think you should be able to switch these stances in combat but they should have some kind of CD. Different tactics for different situations. But I think we are dreaming here tbh

I like. mediation shouldn't increase damage output otherwise its imbalanced and fury is obsolete. other than that I think it sounds good. aslong as effects aren't too powerful, I don't want stone wall to become the next turtle method :sly:

Well, I'd love to see stances, as real combat is more of a stance dance than "using special skills", but I'm not sure what would be a good way to implement it...

Played warhammer, tried a shadow warrior, hated it, no thanks.

Third post by an American that is mindless, I'm noticing a trend here.

I really like this idea.

Right now the only skill type that is extremely diverse is magic, it almost makes it boring to play any other combat type. (however I still use mostly melee and archery, but in comparison to all the magic skills available it make everything esle just seem un-exciting)

This is like Shadowbane feature.

There were 4 stances and you used the best that fitted your char or sometimes 2.

Offensive Stance : Increase Meele or Magic Damage (depends on your class) and reduced defense.
Defensive Stance : Increase resistances but reduced Damage or Attack rate (depends on class)

Anyways it would be a nice a idea, also in Shadowbane you could know what stance the other player had when he unsheathed the weapon.
So you could tell whether he was in Offensive, Defensive or Precise stance.

Good idea :)
