So fucking stupid. You took Darkfall, a great game, and ruined it over time. Now you are adding stupid useless shit like this?

When is trammel coming out?

Fucking retarded.

Wrong. You fail.

All these people that a bitching about it are still going to use it. They'll even love it, and enjoy having it. And if they can get past your own thoughts about what really belongs in a world they didn't created, maybe they'd appreciate that, fluff as you call it, is called content by others.

I like and, will use it for fun and enjoy the fact that the devs are actually adding to the game, while fixing/working on the game.

So, thank you Devs for adding fun while there is still work to do.

I see nothing changes.

The devs are wasting their time on slot machines, while completely ignoring how horribly broken the pvp is.

Why don't you fix something we actually care about?

You can add the fluff later, but for the love of god, lay out the foundations properly before you start to decorate - or your house will fall the fuck down.

Have you even read one of the other 100 threads in this section?

You've got to be kidding...

Wow, just wow...

You're spending time and resources on this?

What a tremendous disappointment. :(

I had hope for the expansion... please don't kill it!

Dude this is going to bring more people out of towns and away from their comfort zones carrying cash! This is a great thing.. Its a slot machine .. its not a gun with bullets .. this has been a great success in the Ultima Online world and its adds a nice yet subtle element to the game.

*cough* Texas Holdem tables *cough* A public Casino perhaps lol *dreams*

Not bad.
But it's 3 days before the mid of november ends and the end of november starts and we still have no word on the expansion coming.

this week

Yes, i have looked at a few of them, im not sure what you're getting tbh. I've not really been keeping up with the game lately. I played from when it released for about 2 months. So i've been away for about 6 months?

From what im hearing, all of the issues that i had problems with are still very much here. Pvp is still broken, alot of skills are still broken, there are huge balance issues and the first thing i see, is that they are adding SLOT MACHINES.

I'm sure you can sympathise. I may well be out of line saying all of that, but...

Uhm, aren't houses going to be having their own banks or some shit? How are you ever going to get anything from people.

What would be funny is if anyone who wins the jackpot their location is broadcasted to the entire server and they can't bank anywhere near where they won it. Nor can they teleport by any means, and they're encumbered. That would be entertaining.

I said that because there's tonnes of threads on new skills, siege mechanics, they're adding global cooldowns, upgrading the mobs, increasing elemental protections on metal armor, etc. Before you bitch about them not fixing things you should make sure they aren't. Nothing wrong with being out of the loop, it's just don't go bitching the devs aren't doing anything simply because you haven't read it. This is simply one of the recent things they've mentioned so it's near the top, and people seem to have blown this out of proportion so it stays up top.

I'll settle for a hardcore full loot pvp game in a beautiful living world with a fantastic economy. Not The Sims:Casino Agon.

Don't understand the juvenile fascination of wanting to mix every activity, that people think they are champions at irl, into the game. Whats next? Minesweeper terminals at the bank?

I feel a lack of vision on AVs part when they add stuff like this. Makes me feel sad.

I feel a lack of vision on your part.
AV is adding things like slot machines, because they know, that not everyone in this game want to do pvp all the time.
Do you know, why UO is still alive ? Why there are people still playing this old game ?
Because you can do anything in it. It is never getting boring. People can have pvp, chat with friends, can do roleplaying, stacking up mushrooms, have fun with anything they want.
Most games get boring after some time of playing even for the hardcore people.
With implementing stuff like this, people can actually do something else after getting bored of grinding mobs or raiding cities.
Slot machines and all other things like this, will help people to chill a bit, BUT still STAY IN GAME.
And this is the most important part: "Forcing" people to stay in game, will even help people like you, to find some people to play with or against. It encourages pvp and stop people from thinking the server is empty.

You are missing the point of this update. The point behind is it expand the whole game world and what you can do in it. They want this to be a world in which you can spend all day in doing different things or the same thing but it doesn't have to be JUST PvP.

I for one welcome our new slot machine overlords.

we touch on this topic in this week's mmoSmackTalk.com: http://blog.mmosmacktalk.com/?p=601&cpage=1#comment-7468

The best idea, on this topic, put out in the cast is one about the potential to upload app games designed by players via a dev created api.
