I just got a logitech g500 with about a billion keys, but I can only bind things to a few of them. I want to activate sprint by clicking down on my mousewheel, like on my previous mouse, an Intellimouse Explorer. Under input bindings, when I try setting that and clicking down on the mouse wheel, nothing happens. I tried typing "/bind BUTTON_3 a_Sprint" and that didn't work. Got an "Error: Unparsable Binding" message. Typing "/bind o a_Sprint" did work, however.
I've got about six other buttons that the game doesn't recognize. Is there any way to bind these keys without an external program?

You can use the logitech program for your mouse to set those extra mouse buttons to weird key bindings you wouldn't normally use like Alt+Q

Or just get the superior Razer Naga. No 3rd party programs are required. Also it has 14 extra buttons! Extremly useful for DFO, imo.

Alt-Q is rest, dude. Or Blade Spirits, depending which game I'm playing.

On my logitech G9 I use the logitech program and set say, the up button on the side of my mouse to F11 and then in-game set F11 to my desired key if you get my meaning.

I use the wow mouse and it is HOT requires a bit of creativity to get it set up for df, but is wayyyyyy more ergonomic than the razor naga or whateva.
OP you can edit the actual file with your bindings, do some research on binding mouse scroll in the forums this will help you.

I have the naga, and I am very UNimpressed with it.
1. The tracking SUCKS. Very choppy.
2. The side buttons are too small IMHO. At least for me, I found I was fat fingering alot of things and mishitting buttons. Yea I used the little sticky guides but it didnt help.
3. On top of all of that, the side buttons are unbindable!!! They EXCLUSIVELY work as 0-9 and -+ respectively. If you play WoW or WAR they can be bound to certain skills/spells but only for those games.
4. The configurator is basically nonexistant. The only thing you can change is the DPI. Literally...that is the ONLY thing you can change.
All in all its a great concept, but needs more dev time and better software.
My recommendation would be the Razer Lachesis. Tracking is outstanding. Configurator is great. There are alot of extra buttons to bind (although nowhere near as many as the Naga).
My 2 cents worth FWIW.....

PS - Use the logitech software to rebind your mouse buttons to like F1, F2, ~ { or whatever, and then try rebinding them in the DF in game option.
That would solve the nonbindable button issue for you.

Razer Lachesis.. Great ergonomics has plenty of buttons for programming and easy to use and set up different profiles for different games.
