Good Morning,

I just started playing darkfall last night and so far i life the game.. There is only one small issue i am having. Thats is When i switch between interface modes going from action to the interface is fine but then when switching back to combat mode the game literally freezes up for 3 - 5 seconds. I am unsure why this is happening and it happens every time like clockwork.

I know this has not really been a big issue for me but it does get annoying when you get attacked in interface mode and you have to switch back to fight.

Anyhow here are my system specs any help would be greatly appreciated:
Asus Geforce 9800GT 512mb
Intel Core2 Duo e8400 3.0ghz
4gb OCZ Reaper DDR2 800mhz

Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1

My pc hasnt had any issues running newer games maxed out and for the most part darkfall runs pretty smooth except for these mode switch lag spikes i am getting.

Edit: I noticed a few other forum threads mentioning X-Fire causing the issue.. I do not have x-fire installed.

I'm having the same problem, albeit worse, my game will lockup for 15-20 seconds everytime I switch from combat to interface and vice versa.

Can't play the game with a bug like this.

How did you resolve your issue?

Didn't fix it. I actually think it made it worse.

Do you happen to have a TimberWolf Wolf King keyboard? if so after you login to the lobby, unplug your keyboard before pressing "Play". Once in-game reconnect your keyboard and taa daa.

The only other solution I found was for HP PC's:

"Mate, you're probably on an HP computer. If that's the case, these steps are 100% garunteed to fix your problem. I had the same issue.

Ctrl-alt-del -> Taskmanager-> Processes-> close the following processes:

- HPKBDAPP.exe - Hp Quicktouch On Screen Display

- QLBCTRL.exe - Quick Launch Buttons

- QPSERVICE.exe - HP Quickplay Resident Program"

Hello,

there was also an issue with older G15 drivers that sounds like your problem.
The latest drivers should fix that - if by any means you own that keyboard.

befor the driverupdate unpluging the Keyboard - starting the game - repluging the Keyboard was a workaround.

If you have X-Fire (http://www.xfire.com/) installed as well, disable it before running Darkfall.

Also works for many other types of keyboards. Solved my issue totally.

Just unplug your keyboard and mouse when playing and plug it again.
Edit: I guess Kilroysilk solved :D

Btw Lanigav... I would advice you to stop posting in this section cuz same as in others sections you just say nonsense...

So it does appear to be my Logitech G15 keyboard causing the issues, I've updated the drivers for it but the problem persists.

When I unplug the keyboard and plug it back up the problem will still persist. I switched to my old keyboard (glad I held onto it) and the lockup was gone.

I just have to use my old basic keyboard to play as opposed to the nice one I spent good money on.

Hopefully they can fix this issue soon.

Odd, since many of us are using the G15 without issues.

I don't know why I'm singled out but that it definately what is causing it.

I can switch the two keyboards out without restarting the game at all and see that when the G15 is up it will lockup.

Dunno =/

Had the same issue and went back to my old trusty keyboard as well for a time, then I got the nostromo. Cheaper than my g15 was, and a hell of a lot better IMO.

I had troubles with my G 15 as well, however unplugging always worked for me. I would unplug as soon as I hit play, and did not plug back in until the game was completly loaded. I never did install new drivers to see if it worked, I just dealt with it. However, when I just recently got a new computer that came with a nice keyboard I decided to retire the G15 for now (I got it one of the first few days they came out, so I had some good use on it for a while now anyhow).
