Clarification about NA client installation.

We were asked to pass this along.

After you complete the steps described here (http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=220416), provided you have the NA client installed, you will be able to log in the NA1 server and play.

If you are getting the message “Account not active”, you will need to log in the NA account management system found here (https://accounts.us.darkfallonline.com/account/) and purchase a monthly subscription.

If you do not have the NA client installed but you do have the EU client, follow these steps to install the NA client without having to download the whole 9 gigabytes again.

1. Download the NA Lobby from this link (http://support.us.darkfallonline.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=1&nav=0)

2. Install it on a different folder than your EU client, such as Darkfall US.

3. Go to your EU client installation folder and copy the following files from the data folder:
dfdata.sfai
All the dfdata_00XX.sfad files
sfmiddleware.dll

4. Go to your NA client installation folder and paste the files in the Data folder.

5. Log in the NA Lobby and let it patch if needed.

You should now be able to log in and play. If you encounter any issues please contact our NA support department (http://support.us.darkfallonline.com/).

You dont have to buy an NA client. You just have to install one.

how can you tell if your character's been successfully transferred if you aren't supposed to buy a subscription until it is?

yes, i xferred during the downtime... lol

I have an active NA account with same email as my EU ... When I tried to buy subscription for my transferred account, it said email already recorded on NA and to pick another one? So I can't buy subscription ? Asked support (waiting) but wondering if anyone here has answer..

Another question that might be interesting to post the answer for would be to tranfer bindings/settings to your NA client. Some people have managed to do it , some are trying. But perhaps there's some straight forward method.

Effing odd. Was getting a billing error consistently whilst trying to subscribe.

Just tried it again after re-entering all of my CC info (for the third time) and it suddenly works.

If they are old accounts, it's possible. But it was changed at some point and you cannot do it anymore.

yea, at launch you could create as many player accounts as you wanted all pointing to the same Email. I did several for others who were having problems getting their own accounts. Sounds like this has been changed then.

I tried the eu to us client transfer without downloading again. When I click the Darkfall us icon on my desktop it asks me if I want to modify or delete us darkfall. I click modify and it does something and exits. When I try again I get the same "Do want to modify" dialog box.

Anyone else have this trouble. Is there something else I need in the data folder that they forgot to list?

you're re-running the installer. you want to run lobby.exe in your Darkfall US folder.

So how does the EU server know which account to send my character to in NA. I have the same user ID name on both EU and NA, so i assume my character should just appear on NA. If that isn't so, how do I tell NA who I was on EU? Perhaps there is a step I missed.

So, i clicked transfer, confirm etc right when account pages came up.

Now i can't find the next step, all it's making me do is click transfer again (even tho i got a confirmation email yesterday about it)

It won't let me log into it using the NA account systems, just the EU one, and i can't find an option to buy the NA subscription from within my EU account page

there is no option to buy an NA subscription on your EU account, you have to log into your NA account. if you can't log into your NA account on the webpage, try the game lobby, see if you get "account not active" or some other message. if you get bad password, do a password recovery...

you can't. they recommend you wait 24 hours to resub na because there is no way to tell when it goes through. honestly i would just sub to na and eat the 24 hours of time you might lose, just so you can play as soon as your character transfers. Just check it every hour, lol.:sly::ninja:

yeah im pretty sure transfers only happen during DT. i bit the bullet and bought a 6month sub and no NA char for me yet. no biggie, but i'm losing 2 days (1 off my 30+ days left on EU1 sub, 1 off the new one) because they did EU1 downtime about 90 minutes early last night, grumble.

ok i trasfered 18 data files one simwarefile thing one sfai file

did the loby icon download

i checked to see if my charature pracess was done yes

new account billing is done

but now i can not establish log in server conection to either server

i did the same for my brothers account 2 hrs befor mine yeasterday 4pm AZ US time

so how come i cant atleast log into the old eu server
or the new na server?

just need to waite 1 extra day? seem strange i cant log in and make a new toon on the old eu server

just in case anyone was curious, i am 'that guy' who lost his character in the xfer process. they say they think they found and fixed the problem so my guy should show up on NA1 tomorrow, but I xferred last thursday during downtime, lol ... definitely don't try to xfer during downtime !!
