Character Transfers are Live

There have been some changes and additions to the text we posted yesterday.

The most notable change is that if you are transferring your character to an existing NA1 account, and you have a player on this account, then the transfer cannot be completed. You need to delete the NA1 character first, this will not be done automatically.

Something we didn't mention in our post yesterday was that your character's alignment will also transfer with your character.

Also it's mentioned that there's a limited time offer (http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=220402) on the 6 month subscritpions during the transfer period. The subscription recurs at the special offer price after the original 6 months are over.

You guys really should move the NA server to the middle of the country so everyone has a reasonable ping or put a cap on things so any ping < 50 gives no advantage. It's really not fair for CA players to have an experience as though they're playing on the server and other US players have a ping almost the same as it was on EU.

Not to mention NA could use some more skilled players, I for one enjoy fighting against characters stronger than mine because it shows me how much I need to improve to become combat effective. I click on the Character Transfer Tab and then just get the instructions on how to transfer:


-Select the Character Transfer Product. This product is free for the EU1 to NA1 character transfer until December 5th 2009. After this time there will be a transfer fee.
-Click on the Character Transfer Tab and specify whether or not you have an account on the NA1 Server you want to use to transfer your character on.


There is no Character Transfer Product option nor can I click on a Character Transfer Tab to specify that I have an NA1 acct.

I think you have to download the NA client (not the whole data package). Then you run the NA client to install the NA version.

This is actually pretty true.

I'm speaking from experience. I have 40+ knife mastry and 40+ GS mastry... I do considerably more dmg with my knives, but in a fight vs a Euro they just turn once and keep running and I can't stay on them. On my end I just see them warp, but I realize the issue is ping.

I have no problem mowing people down with my much lower DPS GS :)

If you are not transfering a player to an active na1 account then its makes a new account on na1 for you, if there is alrdy an account on na1 by your same account name from eu1 then you must give a new account name for na1

As I understand it, the accounts on EU and the accounts on NA are stored in 2 seperate databases. Some guy posted earlier today that his EU account name and his NA account name are the same.

I had your issue, I think. Logout of EU account management, then back into it. Click Character Transfer again. It brought up the right page when I did that.

All you need to do is create and then delete the character. Names get locked once a character is created.

if you already have an account you can transfer your eu guy there but you will have to delete the character you have there...but if you want to keep your na guy you already have then when it asks you do you have a na account ..just say no and they will ask you for account info to make you a new na account..for free...and then you just have to setup a sup..when you character is ready to be played

you meant Download... a while ago they released a small 50mg download for the NA lobby (the thread is still on the first page of the news section i believe)

After you selected to transfer you then need to confirm it a second time on a different page you also have to set up your na account name. After this your eu char will be gone if you have done it correctly, guess we will see you tomorrow instead lol!

Yes, after you create your new account you can login to the account page and there will be a link to download the NA client. Once the patcher is downloaded you will have to purchase your subscription to NA so that you can login to the client. Then, once logged in the client will start to patch.

I would say no you wont get to have your gold with you.

In the past 2 days the lag is so bad now that I get disconnected, Ping rates of 5k+ are not unusual. Thought that it was just me but I've confirmed that is with all the NA players in the zone so dont tell me its my ISP.

I have a few questions regarding transfers.
My EU accounts are old enough for free transfer of course, but I want to buy an NA account for a few reasons. I want to change names and see how my connection would be before I dump 100k+ worth of stuff.
If I buy a new NA account, will I still be able to switch my existing EU account to that for free? Or no because I bought the NA account after Nov. 4th?
Now with name changes, I want to pick the same name on my NA account as my EU account so they will have to let me change names. I'm going to delete the character like 5 min before I want to transfer my EU account to the NA one. This will still force them to change my name right even though I deleted the NA character with that name? I was told it takes a long time to be able to reuse a name after a character using it was deleted.

everyone knows that this game cant support 2 servers in its current state - since they still decided to make a second players move to the one they think is more enjoyable thats it. u cant blame anyone for this.

I understand your frustration but I live in the US. The ping for friends who live close to me is half of what EU is. But the ping is not the major issue, it's packet loss and people bouncing all over the screen do to a cross Atlantic connection. If not for that believe me I wouldn't leave and leave behind the friends I made and lose 90k in gold I had to force myself to burn through and all the other nice items I accumulated since May.

I've already xferred my character but for some reason the NA shop isn't showing me a tab to purchase the month to month sub. all i see are the but client and sub or buy the six month sub.

Any ideas on where I can find this?
