NA Transfer Update October 30th

I dont understand this mentality. Transfers are a service that was announced as an added bonus, it is not something your monthly fee pays for.

Its like buying a house with an unpaved driveway. The developers tell you that offer paving for an additional fee and can do it 1 month later as they are all booked up. They end up delaying your paving for a week so you sell the house.

In other words, i dont understand why someone would cancel their sub for any other reason aside from not enjoying the game itself.

Anyways, guys its only Wednesday, lets all relax, we will get more info as soon as they have it im sure.

Only in a proper analogy they offer to pave it for free the next week, then don't.

Thier original deadline was ~ the 13th of october. They are really fucking late my friend. Almost a month late. Practically next week will be 4 months since NA launched. They said we could transfer in 3 months. They have completely dropped the ball on this one.

from my understanding they have yet to keep their word when it comes to deadlines/release dates *whatever word/phrase you want to go with*. so i think they lost a good majority of our sympathy when they keep failing to meet their own posted deadlines/release dates .

This certainly happens. It's why I said I think they bite off more than they can chew. I think they put a huge list of stuff in each update and then the list is really too big for them to adequately test and deliver in a timeframe that satisfies players.

I think they would be better off giving us small updates periodically while having a smaller group of devs dedicated to major content updates. As is, we basically have big updates and then little bug fixes here and there. The big updates are great, but they're too infrequent (because they're so big).

This situation where they constantly miss their deadlines is seen by some as "lieing". It's not... They're just wrong in their estimate. I don't fault them for being wrong, because I think the end product doesn't sacrifice quality... it's just late.

i would understand if things like this only happened every now and then, but this kind of crap happens everytime something new is added to the game/forums.

AV needs to know they are doing a horrible job keeping their word as well as communication on things that matter to a lot of players. honestly a simple post just saying "listen douchebags, we're having some issues with the transfers. there is a problem where the skills/stats/something is transfering proper *i would like to know what the problem is*. once we figure this out we'll let you bitchs know something"
seriously, if they came out with a post just like that i would be extremely happy! i wouldn't even care if they belittle me just as long as we get some info.

Honestly had I known that they would patch 6x magic gains and be late for a whole month on transfers I would have just re-rolled on NA from the get go. I took a chance they would get it right. Big mistake that was.

I don't see it as lieing, but I think you're absolutely right that they need to tell us wtf is going on. They need to take 5 min out of their day to explain what the holdup is. At this point I'm assuming that the reason xfers haven't opened yet is that there's an issue either in the actual xfer of data or an issue in the interface to request an xfer.

I realize you've been REALLY wanting to transfer for the past few months. I'm sure it's driving you bananas. I hadn't been too worried about xfer until recently, but at this point I'm bouncing off the walls wanting to xfer too. You were bouncing off the walls a month ago, so I can only imagine how things are on your end.

Me too. I focused on magic from day 1 on release day. All my progress over 3 months can now be done in < 1 week lol

I disagree in part. Transfers were something that were PROMISED by AV to occur, and many people made a decision to not reroll on NA that affected their gameplay for several months.

However, I do agree that cancelling your sub because transfers are a few days, or a few weeks late makes no sense.

AV is indeed horrific with deadlines though. Just tell your customers an honest time frame for when you actually expect to accomplish a task. I mean cmon...if AV initially said 4 months instead of 3 months for transfers would it have affected anyones decision?? I think not.

If they announced that transfers would be coming "before the end of the year" instead of whenever the last promise was, at least people could believe them when they say something rather than the bullshit that they typically feed their customers.

Unfortunately, DF is the only game on the market that currently offers what it does. Sandbox/FFA PvP/Full loot/No autoattack/No tab target/etc.... so I dont see myself leaving anytime soon or threatening to unsubscribe.

Don't get it for the console, get it for the PC. And for a single player RPG, it's one of the best games I've ever played. I haven't even gotten out of the prologue yet (and there are 6 different prologues), and I'm just stunned at how beautiful/cinematic the game is and how insanely cool and brutal the combat is.

Definitely buy it, take my word.
