can you remove house addons after placing them?

i have a few but don't want to blow them on a newb house if i cant take them off later, placed one already but am not seeing how to remove it.

if it is possible what is the method?

Just don't pay your rent for three days and it will sell the items to pay your rent.

You can, sort of. If you a have, for example, a Yssam tapestry up and you try to add a same-sized Niff tapestry, it will replace the one on the wall and add it to your backpack.

As the above poster mentioned, adding a similar item (i.e. replacing an Herb Garden with a Mandrake Garden) will place the original item into you backpack when you select, "Yes," in the dialog box that pops up.
