We learned that the Ul'Tanneks wanted to test and see who was the most dedicated of all the followers. Despite the fact that they wanted to create a bloodshed to please the Red Pharaoh, they learned who can be trusted among the inhabitants of Agon.

To please the Red Pharaoh they decided to sacrifice themselves just to be reborn even stronger in the future after their attempt to poison the thoughts of the Black Company failed. Their plot to use them as sacrificial lamb was countered by the fact that they could not easily be taken over and used as decoy.

This is just the first of many steps of their plans to bring the glory of the Red Pharaoh back to the world of Agon.

The names of the protectors and Clans involved will be remembered in both lore and history of the world and that doesn't seem to be just an empty promise.

Well the problem is no one trusted eachother anyone could claim to be a defender just to find the place and kill everyone, or wait THEN kill everyone.

If the next event is a defense related one, perhaps I'll set up a universal ventrillo and we can appoint some kind of raid leader or 2 to keep the defenders together. Some people would have to surrender their pride though and be able to listen to instructions.

Problem #2: Whoever was piloting the warhulk needs to get a god damned license. I heard laugh after laugh when the pilot kept getting stuck, running into monsters etc.

Problem #3: As is pretty obvious, the stupidity of making magery so easy to get, every Tom, Dick and Harry can Volcano at Will. Will went down quick, screaming.

Basically, this was a complete Fluster Cuck. You had GM driven players with the hit points and defensive skills of a goblin. You had no communication between defenders. You could basically see the those defending had little to no experience in large scale battles because they were grouped together like idiots, even after the 2nd and 3rd force bubble was dropped on them.

I think smaller scale events would work better than this large scale stuff. Perhaps the coming changes will make things better, we will see. At least I walked away with a Pharoah Cap off one of the nobles.

Most fun I've had in Darkfall for a long time, aside from Evaners event aftermath. This was better than any siege from our point of view, we went to Ruby with 18 ish guys, killed multiple 10-20 man groups. Finally whoever was up top on the Pyramid jumped down and we wiped them out, got to the Warhulk when all out war began, mopped up about 30 people there amongst the fighting, overall I lost more loot than I gained just in the one time I died..But I got the R80 2 handed racial sword and it looks cool in my bank untill transfers just as a bragging tool. Good fun though, should deffinately do it again, make a special warhulk though that's about 10% slower than a mount so people can catch it easy enough but it doesn't take 4 hours to get near Hal'Kali then start moving the oposite direction lol.

My only problem is that the Event was "canceled" for the defenders were there to suicide and claim the prize. The only reason the massacre happend at the end was pure perfect timing. If the attackers had of been planning ambushes up ahead or camping the pyramid like dune for example.. they never had a chance to take part. It was all about the defenders just following a Battle Ark and then sitting waiting for the loot :/

I applaud making the event. And Darkfall is not nice and cosy.

Have some dissapointments, both on GM's that acted in a way that was biased in many eyes and the actions of some old 'friends'. But you can't do anything without making enemies.

On the other hand the defenders clearly didn't get any cool items that were pre-requisites for future events as we feared.

Me and some friends ran missions for the UlTannek family for hours before we actually met up with them. It was just not you that spent hours on that event. It may not have finished as it was supposed to because of how long it dragged out for but we got to take part in something special and atleast Aesir(think I was the only Aesir there tho..) and friends are cool enough to see this and not complain.

Also a video of the thing will be coming later today. It was originally exactly 10 minutes but the file size was a big to large so I shortened it a little because I didn't want to do a part 1, part 2 thing.

As said above already by some people, the Ultanneks decided to "cancel" the event for the night, and this was more like a test run. So we got pm'ed ( and i guess others aswell ) by an Ultannek, he told us to kill them.
We where like "wtf?" on ventrilo. But decided to do it none the less.

So as some people said..., The Black Company wasn't hired to kill them. We just did what the Ultanneks said. And we would like to be on the defending team again in sortlike events, cause we enjoyed it ( even though we pretty much died all :ninja: ).

Hyperion had been busy before the event as well. We had gotten multiple assignments, one of for example was getting like 10 leather armor sets etc. etc.

Although I must agree, this was a fun event and it just became a bit too late so they just did something to make it shorter.

One reward item is why events fail. You know that everyone on the server will show up, some because of the fun and some because of the loot. But to hand out that one item indiscriminately to any random person who may or may not even have been participating is just ludicrous, and a slap in the face to those who did participate. The reward, if any, should go out to whoever goes above and beyond to prove their worth (tournament, contest, puzzle), or there should be numerous rewards for every participant (like a parade throwing candy). But ultimately the event in itself should be the reward, with maybe some kind of plaque, museum artifact, or building added within the game world to denote the event significance.

Bias is another unfortunate part of event planning. How were the "defenders" chosen (Hyperion specifically being mentioned)? And they seemed to be given more first-hand event information such that they knew where to be instead of the hundreds of people camping the pyramid, or the other hundreds who were out wandering and actively searching for the caravan.

Timing and storyline. This seemed to be going ok, except that posting your exact coordinates and stopping every 15 minutes is of course going to be drawing a LOT of attention to yourself. I suppose that is a good thing, though, if you want the entire server to be able to participate. Why the event team is terrible at playing the game and has to drive a warhulk into every tree is beyond me. The ending sounded like fail, calling for the give-up strategy and mass suicide, those plans never work!


Indeed the event was a lot of fun for those who showed up to play. Role-playing and promise of uber-loot aside, I think it would have been better as a king of the hill type event though. Put an invisible/invulnerable GM driving the hulk (so he can't be killed or knocked away) and let him keep driving all the way from Ruby to Yssam. The defenders and attackers will still have a great time playing cat and mouse, fighting, skirmishing, flanking, etc.

Holy sithra? Has nothing to do with it.
Lightbringer is the human racial weapon, I believe only that one exists in Agon right now. I think some of the components to make it dont exist yet.
