Official Request a Sig Thread

For those of you looking for a new sig on these forums, a change to an existing one or even wanting to contribute to the community by making sigs yourself , welcome to it .

There are a few rules that are strictly enforced in regards to sigs . Defying those rules will result in the posters being susepended or banned and possibly having this thread closed as proven in two previous threads .

1) Sigs are no bigger than 500 x 150 <pixels>
2) Pornographic images and offensive text are NOT allowed . This means swearing,racial and gay references, full nudity and sexually suggestive positions .
3) All works done here are done for free, so if you're thinking to do this for a profit, set up a web site elsewhere and go for it .

4) Sigs are created by those who take an interest in creating them or if you like the style of a particular creator , PM them , other wise its a free for all to create what they see fit within the parameters of the afore mentioned set of rules .

The "Read this before posting" thread has the rule of 500 x 150. I was warned about that once and I had to resize my sig down. I should probably start working on a new one anyways.

Some signatures doesn't look good after being resized, I've had a couple of signatures go down the drain because of a few extra pixels in the past too, but there you have it. People can have around 800 characters long signatures of text and space, but yeah, large pictures are even more dominating and heavy on those few 56k'ers I guess. They'd have to set the limit somewhere, so that is something we should be able to follow through.

Do you want it to be DFO themed ? i.e. It has the DFO logo, or some truly medieval type of syringe with something totally disgusting in the vial ? They had HUGE syringes way back when, mostly metal but I think a bit of artistic license is good here:sly: . How about a medieval Tech Border of some sorts . Just throwing out ideas here . I'm taking a break from packing up my junk into boxes .

Don't know if that was something close to what you'd want. Threw some castle towers in, plus some mountains, and added some wind+snowing effects to help set the more fantasy medieval scene.

Edit: I can easely tweak it. (within reason) :)

I was thinking about maybe doing something different with the "Toxov" name. I noticed just now that you preferred a small name. Yeah, they got the original Request a Sig thread locked . There are a few of us who really like doing sigs since its kind of developed into a small group of artistically/technically inclined people who don't mind spending some time helping out those who want sigs for these forums or others . It helps us out too since there are those who are new to this sort of art and helps get our skillz up to snuff . Its a win/win situation for all .
I can say one thing for sure though , I have it on good authority that any more fucking around won't be tolerated and the rules on the 1st page will be enforced . This time around, the people responsible for any noobishness will be banned or suspended and the images removed . There is such a thing as being a bit racey in the imagery and text but still being tasteful .Innuendo is allowed as evidenced by Protonix' sig . Outright pron, or slurs of any sort , faggetaboutit, you're gone and don't let that virtual screen door slap ya on the ass on the way out . I can live with that .

On the right side sort of blending with the background but still visible, a fancy script like style writing of the phrase: "Death is a beautiful thing". For a background a dark flame / burning destruction behind everything.And perhaps Rouzuki legibly scribbled in the background on one of the smoldering pieces, but if that proves trouble some, it can be top right of the sig.

If you could add a reddish blazing background, maybe with some unread able text in some strange text faded in the back. Give the back ground some texture. Don't just put some flame or what ever give it some depth or something.

With regards to the background, its pretty much the closest I could get without actually porting a picture with flames directly. Again, alterations can be made within reason.

Bah, you're biased since you're an Alfar, but its better than the 1st "request" you tossed up there . That may require actual hand drawn work . Theres a challenge for anyone up to it and has the time . I don't think I have seen any dead Ork/Mahirim/ Wolfman pics yet . Wait until I get into the beta . Created a new sig, its been annoying me how I'm constantly recreating things, so I now want to find something that suits me and that I will want to keep for longer than a week.

Problem I have is I'm not happy with the text and I couldn't find a way of having my name and possibly my guild name in it without it obscuring the background image and to still look cool and atmospheric at the same time.
If anyone else could have a pop at it, maybe someone could do something I'm not capable of.

I -love- the background you've used. :) It should be kept visible.

Very nice signature man, the font used isn't bad at all. There are plenty of font sites around, just download a few and try them on for size. I suggest you just keep your name and don't crowd the signature with a guild name. Just my take on it.

If its possible to find a larger version, or larger full image of the one you've used in the signature, try expanding the overall size to our forum max at 150x500 and integrate the crusader more in the picture instead of it sticking out, just clip it slightly over the black border in the resized version , you should be able to fit more text if that's what you want.

Qft . A lot of the work that goes on here is amazing to some degree or another . People to tend to put more time into these sigs as they get better and try new ideas and concepts out . One or two redo's is the most anyone is going to attempt these days and as pointed out, those who don't have a sig at all should get 1st consideration. Personally, I think your current sig is awesome, Fin .:) Have a bit of patience and we'll see what comes of it . Everyone has a life outside of these new-ly created "halls " :ninja:

Before anything else, I must apologize to those who worked their butts off making my sig, even if they couldn't spell "ShadowDemen". Anyways, I was wondering if I could get a different sig? The bald guy is starting to creep me out. I would like it to signify that I am an assassin and a necromancer, state the fireblood brotherhood in the right hand side, and have my character in it. My character has black hair, wears a mask on his lower face, wears black, and uses his dual swords. Everything else, including background, is up to the creater. And if this is too much to ask, or if you simply just hate my guts and won't make me a sig, feel free to tell me.

I'm looking for a sig of a neck length platnum/white haired, blue eyed, fair skinned, human mage dressed in a tan/white colored mage robe looking down at his hand which is palm face up with a small ball of fire hovering above it. Close by his feet a gray colored wolf. As for the background a dark forest setting I think I would like best. The characters I would like to have done in an anime fashion but its not a must. I realize that it may be kind of difficult considering i'm asking for the character to be drawn and not provided but hopefully someones getting a similar vision as to what I have in my head.

Yea, that's a pretty ambitious sig to ask for from someone who isn't active in the forum. We're primarily cut n paste types with some a little bit of extras thrown in. BTW, you didn't tell us what flavor of Stewart tartan to use. There are at least 5 different ones that I found, and the Farquharson flavor was the one closest to what you're already using.

I think the Mahrim images let u down Rhyssa. The colors seem a bit too vibrant and maybe its just me, but something seeems a bit wierd. The composition is a bit off I think . Working the colors around the tartan may be whats messing with it .

Funnily enough Ben, I was in BC...

Spent a few days in Vancouver, then went over to Vancouver Island, to meet my girl friend's family. Spent some time in Victoria, then went to Salt Spring for a couple of nights to stay in a cabin. Then we went up to the sun shine coast for my gf's best friend's wedding. Which was nice.

Amongst all that, lots of time chillin' on the beach and whatnot. Walking her dog, etc.

Unfortunately my hand luggage got lost in Heathrow on the way home, so when I eventually got it back, no electronic stuff. Phone was gone, mp3 player, digi cam & all 3 Gb memory cards.

It currently looks more psychadelic than scary (not dissing it).

Also, the max size they allow here is 500 x 150 pix and animated sigs are not allowed. Kind of a bummer, but the site mods have a point. Bandwidth is pricey :ohno:

Also , watch the feathering of the edges, which can be adjusted when you use your selection tools. What program are you using for this ?

I made one while I was trolling some Neverwinter nights 2 forum because I got stuck ;) But I see now that you made one yourself. Looks good but try get rid of that grainy effect.

Anyway this is the result and you may use if you like.

There is nothing wrong with the GIMP, per say, its open source and free, and as easily as powerful and feature rich as 90% of the retail programs out there. It has a bit of a learnig curve compared to other programs and once you get a handle on it, it works very well. Keep at it, its worth it in the long run.

Sorry bud, Ol' snoop isn't part of the DFo themes you see in most of the sigs, or even guild sigs for that matter. Snoop's home is so far from ghetto its insane, and DFo is ghetto to the max . The general scenario is that sigs follow a medieval theme with references to the races or DFo in general. Mine makes reference to the Mahirim, the Lupine race of Agnon, tho the pic I used is scarier than what the devs have released so far ;) . You get what I'm saying, right?

anyone able to do a new version sig for myself, I would like 2 Mahirim diffrent game images, a picture of our moon, with a skull and crossbones faded into the moon. At the bottom of one Mahirim put Ghost and the picture of the other Darkness, in the middle of the bottom put are coming. If im asking for too much let me know I would definatly enjoy a creepy rustic look too it..

I was going to try making my own Sig but i'm not really sure how to get started. Does anybody have any good sig editors besides Microsoft paint because i've used it in the past and it tends to mess with the pics when I convert them?
