i think people sell them to 1. save time and 2. not risk the key. But as you say, the chest forumla is a bit rubbish. Gold, armour, items. Not overly exciting.

What are you expecting to see in a chest if not gold, armour nor items?
White doves, bunny rabbits and a chain of coloured handkerchiefs?
Perhaps a portal to another world where all the trees look dead?

A bigger variety of armours and general items would be cool though. Like chest full of reagents or potions. But personally I would like to see more items in the world full stop.

UO was good for having lots of fluff type items and a lot of which even had multiple uses in one big intricate web of interactivity.

imo, keys should give alot more and be rarer drop from some mobs

keys were rare, but when they ajust mobs to be easier to be killed it unajust the key system, i have have many veilron key, i ll loose money to go to the chest and open it many time comparatively if i kill mobs during this time
