So my suggestion is to add regions to the game. I am pretty sure we have all played risk or know someone that has, its kinda like that.
First is to add another reason to have cities. While holding a city once a day or maybe even once a week you recieve taxes from holding a city. It could have it so that every city recieves gold and/or some reagents. Maybe even have it so that if you hold a Ork city you recieve the herb that Ork's recieve for raising herbalism. Now this idea can be taken even farther so that the more a city is built up the larger amount of resources your recieve from holding it.
Second is break the map into regions, where if your clan/alliance holds all the cities in an area they recieve extra resources or maybe a bonus like having a "wonder" cause honestly will we ever see wonders? You could also add cities that are the capitals to a region.
Third is add actual alliances into the game. Make it so that a alliance can be formed the same way a clan can be formed. This way you can add features too see alliance members on the map but also get a clear view of what is going on politicaly. Instead of searching through every clan too see who they are allied to you just search the alliance page. Which would allow you to have people that are allies and people in your alliance.
Forgot to post that this would all give more chances at PvP. Instead of farming mobs for resources holding a city would give resources so you can spend your time PvPing. Also say you have 3 out of 4 holdings in a region, the whole server knows your next hit and maybe would prefer to keep you from gaining that advantage. Also the regions could work for localized banking, as long as you place something in a bank in that region you can take it out of any bank in the region.
