Take away announcements that say who is riding into your city. Its just spam, and how the hell is someone supposed to sneak into your hamlet or city to kill people when there is an invisible robot spy watching at all times that alerts all its clan members telepathically that you are there?

the spam is there to replace the NPC guards which we should have had -_-

At least remove it at night or something, give the day night cycle some more meaning other then "it's dark! it's light! now its foggy! dark again!"

not to mention that 90% of the clan members probably arent in or near the clan city anyway, and they wouldnt be told by the guards thats for sure.

I completely agree. If you want to be aware of potential enemies entering your city, then you should have to dedicate players to doing so.
Even if it's just someone running an alt sitting afk in town. Also now with the clan kill/death messages, people would know when their afker's are getting killed.

Agreed, zap towers are enough of a warning sign that your enemy is in town.
But they are possible to line of sight, giving a character who wants to take the stealth approach an ability to knock off a player or two from a secluded location if he/she is good enough to get in unnoticed. It would also set up the ability for ultra fun things like Ambushes from different angles.

Zap towers are fine for announcement. If you don't have a zap tower then QQ less. If you can't get a zap tower then you shouldn't have one.

Imo zap towers could hit harder if cannons and shit were more effective against them, or they had a minimum range so you could hammer them, and if there was a couple second delay between seeing you and shooting you. That would be pretty cool actually. Hit for 15-20 damage, but a long delay to hit you and a minimum range, you'd be able to sneak into cities, but they'd still provide a great defense.

Anytime someone runs through a hamlet we own, even though we are halfway across the map, their name shows up in sys. I send them a tell "Get out of my Hamlet, I'm calling for backup." They usually say something like, "Come out you fucking sissy" And then I laugh and let them run around a while looking for me. Its fucking gay. Can we get rid of this feature now pls?

there should be a npc ringing a bell then midgets come out of a little shed in the middle of the city and start breakdancing with multi coloured lights rapped around there body.

If you are actually living out of a hamlet, with a small group of people, then the system message is a godsend while you're trying to earn a living chopping trees near town or farm nearby mobs.
For people with large cities and active populations, or owners of hamlets that don't live in the hamlets, then I can see how it would be considered to be a spammy nuisance.

Guards should be normal Mobbs possible to bugg if you want, doens't award skills.
Gives nearly no loot.
Guardtowers should have ranged npcs standing ontop of a platform, if they see an enemy in Monster or something other, fun channel, they would say exactly what the system message is now.
That way if you sneak around in the city, without getting spotted by them, you avoid detection.
Could be upgraded to have npcs patrolling etc, depending on level on fighters guild etc, allot of possiblities.
But I agree, when entering an area, those in that clans shouldn't get a message.
They get a message if you steal from their mine etc anyway.
If you became grey while doing so, and also when siege hammering their bank and other things.
And a message were sent when hammering.
It would be really nice.

This is the dumbest idea in a while UNLESS they put in NPC guards that you can set on a patrol route. You player population activity, i.e. hours played (capped to a max of some sort) determines how many guards you have at your disposal and/or how quickly they respawn after being killed.
Since we cannot even get our clan roster to give us an indication when last a member was online I doubt this will happen. So just taking away the announcement is retarded. You have to replace it.
If you want a "realistic" chance of "sneaking" in then they need to take out Launch. Make it that city gates are actually worth something and something you need to keep an eye on.

I never said that nothing else should be done. Changing it includes taking it out. So other than your disagreement with minor details I completely agree. Guards is the way to go.

i agree, nothing takes me out of the assassin mood more than when im being messaged by the very people im looking to kill and suddenly now im talking to these people or being warned to leave or w/e. totally ruins the fun.
this whole friggin game needs to fix subtly. just because im going down a step the size of a curb while crouching, it shouldnt make a noise that can alert someone a hundred feet away. Plus you cant hide ANYWHERE when someone can see your shadow protruding 30 feet out from the building/tree/rock you are currently crouching behind. and the sound is all messed up in this game.
i just see no reason why in a dense brush i cant crouch and hide from 30 people on mounts because they heard the sound of a twig break from 200 feet away under the roar of 30 mounts hoofing about.

No doubt. You should start a suggestion thread about sound issues and shadows.
