Gathering feels slow and unrewarding when I can kill mobs for gold much faster and then just buy large quantities on trade. We need some kind of self gathering buff to make it go 100% faster for 2 minutes. Good idea?

Gathering needs something done..
Currently its only for the people that run 4 accounts basically..

Then stop gathering and go kill mobs.
The real problem with gathering is how boring it is. Is there any MMO out there with an interesting/fun gathering system, how does it work?

the problem atm is that theres only 3 different kinds of resources + the rares that only player mins give. It just makes it one big grind, If they added different more rewarding kinds of ores and nodes then it would be more interesting and would involve more then walking to a different node every 10 minutes

agree u can have like 5 different ore/wood and stuff for bow and weapon depending on ranks

Gathering is the most boring thing about darkfall tbh
''fast paced mmorpg'' - cerainly not for people who like to craft and gather!
Remove fails and reduce the content of each node, this is first of all going to make it faster and less boring. Second of all its going to drain the resources around startertowns and player cities real quick so if you want to gather you have to venture out in the open world to get resources! I bet 90% of all the resource nodes never get tapped!
Make all wilderness nodes start on random cooldown so you can just drain everything around your town on serverup. the fact that its so slow gathering and that they are all full after serverup is a stupid combination. All you do is start your round over when you drained the last tree around your town.
Put ''rare nodes'' in the wild with a chance of rare ore/material!
This would create even more pvp hotspots and i think it would be better if the rare nodes are stationary so you know where to get the stuff but its going to be a big risk! The clan territory would be more important to protect so you can keep the rare ore for yourself!
