What if for every clan out there, there was a currency for. You and your clan base your currency off the rate of gold, which is set by the GMs and can fluctuate by thier decree. The gold you and your clan has is gathered in the clan bank and is the value at which your currency is judged. If you wipe out a clan thier currency becomes valueless. This would create large complexities in relations between warring and trading clans. It would give a reason to defend someone rather than 'you guys agreed to help us in siege warfare herrrrrrr'

Give us in game reasons to do things. I dont want to challenge someone and set a peace treaty to make my city invulnerable for being invulnerables sake. I want real meaningful war, meaningful currency, meaningful trade, meaningful economy, meaningful combat. It is possible!

Meaningful economy - how do you propose to get that when you want to tie the value of a currency to a gold stock that can be removed or drastically increased in one maneuver?

How would a clan back its currency?

You cannot possibly have thought this through.
