If you jump forward you should be able to look up or down, but not left and right. The ability to jump and turn 180, finish a cast, then before landing turn 180 again and land and still run at teh same speed you were originally traveling is nonsense.

Make it so if you are jumping you cant turn left or right. Jump casting is fine with me, as long as you cant defy physics (not talking about in game physics) and turn 180, then lol turn back 180 again in opposite direction.

Omg. You suggestions is very lame and ugly.
1. When ppl kite you with magic you can shot in they back and did x1.5 damage.
2. Or you can just block they spells. Jump+block spells very burn stamina. Ppl die without stamina very fast.
3. Burden FTW.
4. WOF
5. Just change direction you move. Look in that direction they spin and move in another. Its stupid just follow kitters.
6. 50lvl nukes AOE not very large.
7. You noob. Don't post here.
8. You can post here then you play in game 3-6 month.
9. Don't wine about magic, just get it.

That would be uncomfortable and irritating.

That would remove the ability to jump and adjust aim for a moving target. And your real life argument falls flat because its possible to do that in real life, just most peoples aim would suck. If you are dying to 180 jump spin casters you aren't playing the game correctly. Yes, the only way to counter range is range. So what.

I agree that the idea is not the best but defending kiting like you do is just lame.... Besides all your ideas include range magic/archery and for a person that wants to specialize in melee its no use in doing any pvp right now... They are the ones getting kited not the mage or archer

im not to bothered about the 180 turn thing but i dont think you should be able to do it while sprinting, and if you have to let go of sprint you lose distance and the kiting problem is over.

I take solace in knowing that the Op's idea will never seriously be considered.

jumping around like a pixey is really gay and untill melee ppl are able to burst sprint towards a kiter jump casting should be taken out, Im all for situational wepons/skills but atm melee is useless in any pvp unless its 2 noobs going at it.

Wow I get so sick of threads like this. Saying I want to specialize in melee is like saying I want to suck forever. This is a CLASSLESS game if you try to play just a class you will lose. Good fights use all 3 forms of damage. Pure mages get owned by good players when they try to run away.

JUMP SPIN CAST IS NOT OP YOU JUST SUCK.

OP is kind of right about momentum and physics although I think he probably failed physics in HS. You can spin in a jump you just can't spin two directions in one jump. If they just added a bit of inertia to where you actually accelerate in sprinting, and spinning while jumping this would add so much more depth to all aspects of fighting in DF. The circle jerk melee fights are garbage and simply reduce to frantic jousting matches.

So should people who want to specialize in archery have a protective bubble around them since they wouldn't be able to defend against melee? No, archers need to use a melee weapon sometimes, just like people who want to specialize in melee need to use a bow sometimes.
