View Full Version : Allow us to adjust the angle of our bows

Right now, the bow is held at such an angle that our own arms obscure the view of the target for longer range shots.

We have fire off an arrow, look to see where it's landed, adjust, then fire off another one, trying to recreate that same angle.

I would like to be able to hold my bow vertically, with the view directly down the arrow shaft, so that I can use the textures of my bow to work out what angle to fire at for each range.

Right now, for targets over about 50 m away, our own arm obscures the target, so we constantly have to look back down at the target to see where our arrows go.

Allowing us to hold the bow vertically will actually allow us to keep our eyes on the target whilst adjusting our angle.

This might enable skilled archers to actually take decent advantage of the extra range that bows have over magic.

Just make t adjust the angle between what it is now (gansta-style archery) and the vertically held bow.

THIS is how we should be able to hold our bows:

I like it. Mages don't have to take their eyes off the target to shoot at them, so why should archers?

Yeah like hitting the "T" key that changes the melee swing, also changes bows angle.

Agreed, it's obnoxious trying to pull off really long shots by first looking at where I should be aiming, then trying my damn hardest to push my mouse straight upwards without moving left or right even a tiny, tiny bit. Being able to see the target still while doing this would allow me to adjust my aiming if necessary before releasing the arrow.

It will probably be a little bit tricky to carry out interface wise, as you would still like to be able to adjust both aim and bow height - at the same time. But yes, please.
