How about having the aggro mobs actually out hunting the wildlife in their area for food, sport etc. Make the aggro mobs get stronger over time and determined by how much they have been hunting and let their loot include what you would get if you had killed the wildlife yourself.

For instance a cave bear that has a deer spawn near him would change after a few successful deer kills to a "savage cave bear" then to a "vicious cave bear" and finally to a "ferocious cave bear". Upon killing him you would find a few of the same items you would find if you killed a deer yourself.

The aggro mobs that we have now could also begin to have their own racial tensions and do their own raids on their sworn enemies. One or two trolls raiding a close goblin spawn, raven standards attacking orcs etc.

Perhaps the local monster spawns could launch their own raids on nearby player owned cities and hamlets if they haven't been hunted in a while to get people out of their cities and actually take an interest in the surrounding countryside.

Making the world come alive with its own agenda would create a more immersive environment for everyone who enters it.

I think the mobs raiding cities could certainly be interesting, but towers create problems. You couldn't defend with aoe magic, for fear of hitting blues, and a missed archery shot gets you killed. But you can't just disable the towers cause then PK'ers would come in and murder people just because they can, which means people would be doing this naked and that's just boring.

Edit: Mobs raiding other spawns would actually be interesting, as long as it only comes in either very small amounts so as not to overwhelm new players, or on higher end mobs that older players will realize they need to stay out of the way.

would love to see something along these lines implemented.

Like:
Mobs that skill up!
Mobs that can loot player's gold, any common reagents, as well as equip any better gear items the dead player might have had!
Imagine seeing goblins hunt down a deer and loot its meat and skin it and then find it off the goblin after u kill him!

I don't really see the purpose of having mobs that kill each other. Why create something that happens, only when people aren't around to witness it? The bears would only be eating the deer when nobody was killing them, so while it makes sense for it to be so, doesn't really add much to the common player.

You could set mobs to only raid player owned cities :D
Imagine finding loot a mob got off a mob he recently killed. Would make the kill twice as valuable :)

Mobs dropping full sets of bone and reagents after killing players imo :)

not much chance of that happening unless the player's a total n00b lol
... or the mob is high level and doesn't have better gear.

NB. my looting comment only applies to humanoid mobs

I always thought it'd be neat if the red dragon, or any dragon for that matter, ate the corpses that it killed, consuming the loot and making it a part of its own loot.
