Smoke Grenades, and a Smoke Screen spell, prolly in fire magic, but maybe in greater magic instead.
I just chanced to notice how badly smoke obscures vision, as I stand next to an erupting volcano. We should get this on the battlefield.

Good idea.
A 'smoke grenade' made with alchemy skill that creates an obscuring smoke field, and a 'smoke field' spell for fire-magic.
Obscuring your movements if a valuable tool.
I wouldn't mind seeing the effects of 'confusion' recreated in a battlespike too. It would effectively be a flash bang.

Smoke signal should be a smoke grenade like that. And maybe put smoke bombs in herbalism at 100 or something so it gets a use.

I had a similar idea the other day when two reds were hiding in a large house in the city I was in. I thought there should be a stink bomb or tear gas spell that would do a small amount of dmg, but would keep damaging you until you wre dead if you didnt move. The spell could be similar to the Healing Chant (or whatever its called) where as long as you dont move the spell keeps going. Just have it ranged on target, wo wherever it hits there will be a large smoke cloud and anyone in it takes 1 dmg a second as long as they are in the cloud until the caster moves. This way you could 'smoke' someone out of a building if hes hiding there.
