Seriously.. this spell is so disappointing, I was trying to fool myself and even got it to 50 in hopes of it fixing itself. But from 25-50 i saw practically no difference. It is great when people are on cliff edges or walls, and yes, I have successfully used it before and knocked people off walls multiple times. However, (90%) of the time when hitting someone on flat ground they barely move. Yet, I was farming a golem last night and he repeatedly hit me with begone, no matter where i'm standing I would soar 3-4 times farther than my lvl 50 begone would send anyone. Whats up with that?

I still like the spell, I still really want it to be useful, but it needs some love!! Perhaps a larger aoe at lvl 50?

Dont know how u got this to actually post in suggestions everytime I post in suggestions the thread comes out weeks later or not at all. Anyways begone is bugged like all other spells even at surging it works exactly the same. Hopefully this comes with the expansion. I would rather see this fixed than some deer roaming around to kill for leather.

Same with fireball knockback, stormblast and all other things that will move you in any direction, part of Melee Knockbacks.

Come Heither doesn't work like it should either.

So what's the conclusion, lagg / delay.
When a mobb hit you, it's you versus the lagg you have towards the server.

When a player hit you or you hit a player, it's double the lagg, first send, then he receives, then sends back, and you receives.

Both have to send their positions and you have to send the power of your knock-back.

Thus by the time it's all finished, he won't be at the position he was before, and the knock-back will be close to non existent.

A rework is neccessary yes, othervice there won't be a way to counter melee if melee get boosted.

I'm all for boosting melee and having these knock-backs the only way to survive if you have one close to you, rather then out maneuvering them through jumps etc.


I don't know how the code is written, but I guess it's not by sending on impact, a change speed to the player, it's a speed at the position of the impact, and that's what cause the lagg / delay thus the non-existent knock-back.

Fix would be to always give the same amount of push-back no mater how the distance is to the position if it's back hit, it's a push forward, if it's not, it's push backwards.

It's not as dynamic, but it's a start to get it better eventually.

Thats even more disappointing. A surging begone should shoot someone farther than a melee knockback in my opinion!

Yesterday was the first day i had some use of begone when i shot an afk macroer from a spire on ice. Otherwise it is of no use.

I've used it in sieges to knock people off walls that are spamming AOE's. Ive also used it to give that extra boost when when someone launches (hit them in the ass from below). But when it comes to actually knocking someone back on flat ground I find shrapnel or melee knockbacks much more successful.

It could be much more useful. It has an AOE, which means if you shoot it at the feet of a group of players they scatter. Great for when enemies are grouped up and healing each other. But like I said, sometimes it just flat out fails and people seem to get "stuck" on the ground and dont move more than an inch.

Begone is kinda weak, gets strong at 100. Stormblast at 25 will actually launch you higher than 75+ launch.... plus stormblast works on moving people and has a huge splash... at 75+ stormblast has massive effect.
