For those of you that don’t use this already:
Sinister have put together one of the top Darkfall resources, an interactive Darkfall map, which features the locations of NPC cities, monster spawns, clan cities, and most of Agon’s landmarks. They have also done a good job in categorizing monsters according to difficulty, and even some of the monsters’ drops.
You can check out the map here (http://www.afraidyet.net/forums/misc.php?do=page&template=Darkfall_Map.).

I think it would better if someone went through it and checked the data. Because many things are WRONG on it. Also where is the NA data?

Probably because a lot of the early data on sinister's (and thus basically any other map's original data) map originated from a personal interactive map I built back in beta. There is a lot of maintenance to be done considering how many of the spawns/drops were altered or changed difficulty, which is why my map kinda died since I was too lazy to keep it maintained. =p

Ya I know bro, you remember me helping put a lot of the data on both SIN and your map before SIN had a good map.
Your map was the best I wish it was able to be updated better is all. I dont like DF Atlas one as much as your first map, but I understand its harder to update the first one without people doing it by hand.
DF Atlas (http://www.DFatlas.com) is Better
I'm not sure how it's better when it's data was pretty much stolen from my map (without permission) to begin with.
If the sinister map is inaccurate it's because you haven't taken time to send a correction. We also accept volunteers to help process submissions, and update politics. See my signature.
There's no way any one person can verify every location on the map. It really takes a community effort to ensure the map's accuracy.

You are right about IE. Firewalls, Proxies, and Antivirus software can also cause issues.

I use the sinister. Its more up to date, and i post mob spots some times. I wish there was only one map which all used.

There's only one map I use, and it's neither of these :P The best sources are private, after all, it's darkfall.

Being the original or 'first' doesn't necessarily make it the better one..

For mob spawns, dungeons, chests, cities, other landmarks, it's simply the best out there, granted there's a few places missing or slightly off on the map, but Agon is HUGE and no one person, let alone one clan can record everything. I'm on the map team there, mostly I just update the alliance info but it is an excellent system. I will admit it's not the best for updating politics because only the map team can really edit that, and there's not near as many of us who frequently go out to check these things, so the politics on Sinister map only appear incorrect because they are outdated. The Political Map isn't 100% either, it's just updated more, best source for learning the political landscape is to play the game and inquire there, with the ever changing landscape of DF, it's very hard to keep that aspect up to date.

Funny how all these maps have mobs on them. Thinking back, weren't mobs supposed to die off and not have set locations? xD

Exactly, it's easy to update the info if you see a mistake.
I prefer the Sinister map system myself.
I tested Sinister map in the newest versions of Firefox, IE, Safari and Chrome. Chrome was by far the best browser to use for viewing the map. It ran everything faster and smoother. And not just by a little bit. The map seemed to be at least 2x faster using chrome. Chrome has also now become my default browser :D

The Sinister map is decent, and really the one that I use the most... there are SO MANY spawns not on the map, though.

The Fremen Knights map is far better. More spawns covered, more reliable and more detailed information. Only downside is it's only available to TFK members :D

Because you can filter by specific mobs. I like that I can check the box with "Goblin Scout" ( for example ) and find out where they spawn.

You could try bearing with us while we also try to help out some of Darkfall's new players with one of their frequently asked questions. Some of the replies have pointed to other helpful resources as well.

/agree if the sinster map had a search function that work than it wouldnt be much of a question. but since dfatlas loads quicker and has a great search function more and more ppl are relying on dfatlas

The search function does work. You have to toggle/retoggle the types you want to display after searching.
I'm not actively improving the map right now because the future of darkfall is questionable.

well sir all you have to do is open up your task manager, go to your processes tab. look at your browser. than go to one search engine than the other and you could see for yourself. just in case your one of those morons that dont know how to figure things out on your own.

you have to admit though that just typing out what you want and hitting get matches is an easier search function

Maybe if you are lazy. I believe the reason I did it that way was because I didn't want to limit the search to one category at a time.

It may not be accurate, but its easier to use when you are looking for a specif mob spawn, which is the only time I use it.
