Hey!
I would like to do a small DF movie, nothing special. It would be my first fraps movie ever.
The synopsis would be something like this:
A bunch of noobs ride out for fortune and glory. They kill a few AFKers and think they are heroes. So they ride deep in to "Alfar country". Naturally they encounters a "red" and freaks out. Everyone almost die in slow mo explosions before they manages to calm dowm and put 46 arrows in the "red".
I intend to stage every scene. I want it to LOOK good. Something between 300 and Saving Private Ryan:D
Purpose: Mostly to have fun. And most important, having something to show people from a fun game. I hate the fact that i played MMOs for years without a second of footage to show. No one at work or in school could care less what i did in my games. Unless if i dont have a nice funny movie to show of course.
Moviemaking is a big hobby of mine in RL. But as i said earlier, i have never done one with fraps.
And course would it be sound effects, music, color correction and special effects.
I play a human on EU-1, so for making it easy i would shoot it in the border between human and Alfar land.
So......anyone think this sounds interesting?

Why not finish it?
It looked like a good start:D
Im not sure how i will handle the lines talked by characters. Maybe silly chatbubbles, or voices. But both seems so damn "tacky" to use.

If you spent some time, I bet you could make something creative.
I'd suggest writing the storyline out, rehersing it a couple times, have everything on a local end, remove chat and interface GUI, communicate through vent. If you can record your vent conversation, that would be very effective and attach to the video so then it would have sound and either way since there is now additional GUI you could add some type of text some where and edit it in. (Bubbles or just text over people's head in different colors, etc.)

Well, that would be way better to have some voice recorded dialogue, not some silly bubbles.

Agree. But for that you need good voice actors.
The purpose with this project would be something small and simple. And then if all involved people would like, to do something much more complex in the future.
So...still no people that are interested in making a small DF movie now? Just to have fun a few days shooting scenes. I have much to learn myself. Im no expert.

That was a good advice! Thanks man:)
And i begin to understand that the official DF forum, RP section is a bad place to look for RPers that want to "act" in a movie!:lmao:
Alright. I will do it. I can act and do voice. .. Im sure many will enjoy this.
My demands are:
* Much better storyline than what you have now.
* Fully credited in The Cast at the end of the movie.
* Movie has to be 9-10 minutes.
* You do the filming in max details.
* You have to shoot all of it on Yssam.
* It has to be professional.
* The movie has to promote positive associations with the continent of Yssam.
* The movie has to further our career as movie stars in the Darkfall universe and also give birth to another star by giving a rookie an important role. I have a special actor in mind for this. His name is Dalthan Mitchale.
What I can offer:
* Myself and other actors from Yssam Raider
* Exceptional knowledge of all terrain on Yssam
* Voice acting of additional players
* Movie stars such as Celiah Ailey The Terror of Yssam & The Naked Combat Looter Bogey Man,
* Humourous Dialogue
* Help with background music

This sounds like fun but I do think you should atleast beef out the story of this short film a little more. If you need help with story writing or to have me in the movie or whatever send me a PM.

yeah, the "story" isnt that complex.
As this would be my first frpas movie ever, i would not want to make it to "complex".
Learning by doing:D
But yes, if we shoot it...i would need to make a storyboard and flush the story out some.
And you are welcome to help me with that.
In the future i would like to try some real nice storys!

One: PREPARATION
While Cindy was showering, she thought about how she would be spending her day. On most weekends, she either went on an outing with her friends or one of the men she dated casually. To that extent, the day’s itinerary seemed stable enough but, somehow, the thrill was missing. She felt more like a participant than a creator of situations. Sure, she could see the new movie that just came out but watching celebrities was not like being a celebrity. She could go to a live event at a club in hopes of meeting someone but the social aspect of clubbing was more a myth than a reality. Most people went to clubs with dates, including her, and that usually hindered everyone from talking to strangers. Everything about her environment was based on being just like everybody else. She wanted to do something new and interesting.
Becoming a celebrity would be fun but would not happen during the course of the day so that idea had to remain a daydream. If she was to make a difference immediately, she would have to focus on something that could be done right away. As she got out of the shower, she told herself she would make things easy by changing the first thing that came to mind.
She got dressed, putting on her belted jeans and the first clean shirt she noticed: a cute flowery ¾-length-sleeved shirt that usually got compliments whenever she wore it. That shirt was hanging on her chair since yesterday when she almost wore it but then changed her mind when one of her boyfriends had to cancel their date at the last minute. Thinking about the cancellation... wearing something else... Okay, she now knew what she would make different: her clothing style.
Easier said than done. How could she change her clothing style when everything she owned had been worn many times in the past? However, there had to be something changeable. Then, she noticed a headline from an article in one of her magazines: “Do We Tuck Or Not?” Usually, she skipped the fashion editorials and read the interviews with the celebrities but, when she laid down the magazine last night, she must have forgot to close it and the magazine stayed open at that page. She thought about the last time she wore her shirt tucked in: not recently... perhaps not in a very long time. Should she read the article? Nah. She didn’t need to spend time with the extra words. The title said it all: Should she tuck or not? Yes. If she couldn’t change the type of clothes she wore, she would change the way she wore them.
She tried tucking in the flowery shirt but it ended just at the waistline and would not go in the pants. Most of her shirts had a similar predicament. Why? Because: she tended to buy the same type of stuff her friends bought so she could fit in. But: today was about doing more than just fitting in. She wanted to be noticed. There had to be a shirt long enough to tuck in.
Yes, she saw something: a long-sleeved white turtleneck. That would look great tucked in. She would look both professional and sexy but in a way that would make one wonder if she did it for personal reasons or a job requirement. People would wonder that much more because they would see the turtleneck tucked in for the first time. As she put on and tucked in the turtleneck, the fit was comfortably snug and smooth as if the whole outfit emanated vibes spelling out the word “Purposeful.” Her goal would be to go about her day like business as usual but with the attitude of knowing what she did and knowing that others noticed also, whether they admitted it or not.
