Epic games

OK so I was out of gaming for quite some time before my recent purchase of a new PC. To give you some idea the last games I spent any serious time on were Q3 and AvP2. What totally epic games do you consider are 'must play' in the last few years? I give pretty much any genre a go, other than sports titles which are more of a console thing anyway. Extra points for any good adventure games too.

I need to compile a list to work my way through.

all kidding aside. I haven't felt any game released for quite some time was epic.
for kicks and giggles I'll say gtaiv because I actually bought it. didn't feel like leeching 13 gigs. fallout 3 is doing alright, I suppose (DLC).

playing batman arkham asylum, wolfenstein and darkest of days atm. I won't be buying any of those titles.

batman is meh, wolfenstein ('09) has a nice bug that if you replay missions it will crash which then won't let you progress (unless you cheat via console) and DoD, while interesting, runs like utter shit (random FPS drops). I did enjoy Ghostbusters for a bit but the novelty wore off fast. Overlord II was fun. FEAR 2 has new DLC -I think-

if you want something to keep you busy I'd say go with fallout 3. not really epic, but oblivionish.

Hrm I'm not really looking at the new or recent titles, I mean the older ones.

Like in the other thread there was a strong opinion that I need to play baldurs gate.

dungeon keeper 1-2 was really fun.
i recently played heroes 3 with few guys over internet.
tried worms world party too (which is really fun on internet) but i forgot how to set it up over hamachi so couldnt get it to work :(
