Someone I know recently started a site all about "author-submitted" gaming content. He told me it was because he thinks most gaming sites sucks and that actual gamers can do a much better job.
Anyway, here's the site - http://www.passionategamers.com
What do you guys think about it?

Interesting concept, I wish them good luck.

Concept might work, but the site is way too dark and my eyes hurt when I try to read the text more than a few minutes.

What kind of a redundant term is author-submitted? I mean, come on! Isn't every single written work in the world author-submitted?

Author-published is a better word as most professional reviews are submitted by the author but published by the editor.

great site, fucking terrible layout. please tell your friend that it needs something more easily read, like black letters on white background with blue accent.
grey on grey on grey is horrible on the eyes.

Ha, after vetting out the site he decided to change it to a more simple design. I personally think it's pretty sweet now but on account that I'm biased I'm wondering what you guys think again.

In this case it's referring to "user submitted". It would be hilarious though if you submitted a humor article though. Imagine Mordhak, but as a writer on a gaming site..would be insane. :ninja:

it needs the forumfall color scheme really. white on this dark gray works great for me.

Suck him off a little more why don't you?
I love the responses so far - bitching it's too dark and now bitching it's too light. I think the issue is that there's 1000s of gaming sites, a lot of them are indeed gamer run too. Your friend really is no website designer and even if he does manage to persuade getting other people to create his content is a good idea, it's doomed to wither and die within a few months.
Sorry.

Sir, I'm afraid a 125x magnifying glass is not an accurate substitute for size assessment.
