Well folks I have returned from E3, at the moment I can't say much about what I saw since Tasos hasn't yet returned home and some articles from other sites are still pending so a lot of details can't be released yet.

But I will give a basic summary.

Tasos and Kjetil arrived in my hotel room the first night I was there and Tasos excitedly says "Show it to him!" while Kjetil holds up a laptop larger than most PCs.

Some great things were shown, and I had a chance to sit down and play the game for about an hour. I can say that when you guys get to it, you're going to need a change of pants.

I'll see what else we can release in the next week or so, this will have to do for now!

As far as I'm concerned, the E3 buzz has been pretty disappointing.

Here's what I do when I get bored: I get online, check some web-comics, slashdot, woot.com, etc. Then when that's done, 1 out of 5 times I'll check the Darkfall boards on the off-chance something happens. Did I feel a twinge of excitement when I saw a post with a date in the title on the news forums? Hell yes, but then I read what we got, and I think "Wow I should do a write-up on my site... or make a post in my guild forums." Then I think "Oh wait... That didn't tell me anything at all, I'd get laughed at even more than I already am."

For his part, Brannoc does a great job as community leader, as does the rest of the volunteer staff; but for their part, Aventurine/Razorwax has done the bare minimum as far as P.R. goes for as long as I've followed the game (since spring of '04 btw). Do we know more about this pre-beta game than most games in pre-beta? Yes. But as far as I'm concerned, that's the only way to stay afloat when you've been reeling in the bait for this long. At this point, I think it's safe to say that not doing exactly what they did would unequivocally be the death knell for Darkfall.

I know if I hadn't seen them at E3, with articles, interviews, and screenshots, I would say "Wow, so you just truly don't care. You really are vapor, gg".

I guess what I'm trying to say is: After a couple years of being teases... it's the least they could do.

Didn't want to be as harsh as I came off, and I know Brannoc does what he can, but when it gets to the point that it's barely worth checking for news on a game like this-- that should have been in beta multiple times over, it's hard to argue against people who call it vapor. Still a fanboi though.

It doesn't change the fact that criticism should be welcome. I will agree that no one should simply go around bashing the game, but like I said, criticism is needed. Yet any hint of it on these boards and legions of people who aren't even affiliated with the game flame you just to boost their post count.

No one can think things have gone perfectly. People can NOT make the claim that the development cycle of DFO has been similar to other games in either terms of time or how to promote the game. The devs themselves have stated their mistake (pre clan beta beta). Hopefully things have changed since then. Yet perhaps this is a good thing. This game is unlike other games so why must its production look similar? It doesnt have too. If you had read some of my previous posts, you would know I support the game and am willing to wait for quality. That does not discount certain issues that continue to exsist that create doubt about DF. Yet once again, hopefully these will be solved in the near future, but those of us who have been around for awhile (including you, mr. two accounts) know that as much good that could be expected to come, could turn around at any instant.

As for my activity on the boards. In my opinion there is far to much redundant crap. I don't feel the need to post "Read the FAQ" 5 times a day to boost my post count. I try to post when I have some contructive criticism or when I have an opinion. I'm sorry I don't meet your post count quota to be a "real" member of the community.

I just wanted to let you all know that there is still a lot of E3 information coming from a lot of sources. I myself write for Warcry and there were a lot of interenet issues there...and real life stuff that has made it so that we couldnt post from LA. Some of us have real life jobs that is making it so that some stories will be coming in a day or so.

We as gamers want instant answers and that just isnt always possible. I got the chance to meet the Darkfall guys. They are great. They love their game.

Give them time to do what they need to be doing....letting people know about Darkfall and making the game....

I know its hard to be patient, but the end result will be worth it.

I certainly agree that it should be contructive but sometimes the difference is so miniscule it can be difficult to differentiate.

Also, I for one try not to whine or bash but this is still the place to whine and bash so I expect it. It balances off with all those who blindly accept what they are told.

I still hope for the success of DF but there is certainly room for doubt.

That's all we ask for Brannoc, i can tell you that these things you said ARE needed for clans to keep thier members interested in this project (i have a purdy good way of tracking this) People like straight answers and i like the redeeming qualities i'm starting to see as of late, especially from you ;) Regardless of how 'miniscule' it may seem to some, i think you done a good thing here. As they say in cali 'its all good' even if it's 'miniscule' it's at least something.
