Setting was in world war 2
3rd person view (like diablo 2)
You started off in a jail cell
I remember that in the jail there is a box which you find cheese in there
It was a humorous game, lots of wit
You fight Nazis with weapons (guns, explosives, etc)
I think you can have other characters in your group that help fight with you
You start in a town and there is a quest where you help fix someone's car by giving them a carburetor
Someone must know the name of this great rpg. I sadly didn't get to finish it.

I believe the game you're looking for is Commando: behind enemy lines.
no thanks are necessary, citizen!

The original wolfenstein? Before the doom-style fps game. The very first one :p
Edit: Just guessing here, Velvet assassin?

The original wolfenstein isn't 3rd person and I don't think you can have other characters there. Don't think Velvet Assassin is humorous.
But this game sounds interesting.

This is a PC game we're talking about, right? How old is it, approximately?

Toonstruck! No. That definitely wasn't it. But it was a hysterical game.

It is a PC game, its pretty old (Maybe late 90s early 00s). Isometric view (just like diablo), I'm pretty sure it was WW2 since the guns were of that era.

Are you absolutely sure it is none of the Commandos games?

It isn't commandos, this game was rpgish, where you can equip different guns, armour, etc to your character. I've played JA 1 and 2 so you can rule them out (great games btw).

Do you remember any specific names of characters? Any unique weapon/explosive names? Any particularly funny jokes/puns?

Whenever I've looked up a favourite old game, it's never lived up to my memories of awesomeness, which kills that memory.
Hope you don't get that with this.

BG 1 and 2 are awesome. It would be a good entertainment investment.
You're right about nostalgic games...I replayed this one RPG for the N64 that I loved as a kid for whatever reason and found I hated it.

yup. u can control 6 characters at once unlike in neverwinter nights which is really fun as they all have different abilities (at least i picked up different classes for my group), story line is really great and ur opponents are a challenge so u might have to reload a few times before u beat them.

You might wanna refresh your knowledge of D&D rules before you start though.
