Hi,
managed to fix disconnecting. (lost connection to server 2)
After trying a lot of things like 32500 router port, app time sync, new audio and video drivers, keep always DCing. I was going crazy.
Then, after a long time loosing stuff, finally got the solution:
**Disabled Network Discovery option on Windows 7. Think it works on Vista as well.**
No more disconnections !!!!!!

I tried this in Vista 64 Home Premium last night and was still plagued by this disconnect.

The problem here is the Darkfall client, it needs a longer timeout (say 30-60 seconds like every other MMO out there ;P)
Routers are going to have issues, so if the client could just be patient and wait for the network to come back it'd be alright.

The network discovery solution did not work at all on my Vist 64 bit...
I have 2 identical operating systems running on different hardware on the same network. One has the issue and the other doesn't. I think I'll try swapping out the nic on the 'troublesome' system to see if it has any effect.
Bahh... getting old :-(

You know whats weird is it worked for me for about 2 days then I restarted the computer and it didn't work, messed around with some shit and got it working again. I now have my windows clock syncro turned off, absolute timer turned on only updating on computer restarts and Network Discovery on and its working again. Havent restarted the comp though so I doubt im going to for a while.

You realize keeping your computer on 24/7 wears out the computer right? Constantly pushing power through and electric circuit (like a motherboard) 24/7 = will die sooner. :(

Not for me :(. Both XP machines:
-I have power&performance set to max, so nothing goes idle etc
-I have Timer Sync off
-I've done several virus scans
-I've done several malway/spyware scans (different from Virus Scans)
-I've done everything Darkfall support suggests, yet they continue to claim it's on my end....
-Earlier today my ISP said they monitor & throttle "torrent-ish" packets & bandwidth....perhaps this is the issue?
OR
-They need to make their client LESS dependant on system client clock & MORE dependant on server clock. My ISP guy said I was using so little bandwidth he thought I was just surfing the web LOL (something like 32kb/s down, 8kb/s up usage on my bandwidth).

On the other hand it will be obsolete before it dies.

I was getting disconnected 2 to 3 times a day. My fix was using a small freeware time sync app. That was almost a month ago and not a single disconnect since the day I installed it.
I know this solution doesnt work for everyone but 100% fix for my XP rig.

So, a little update here:
I started throwing parts and ideas at my comp, trying to stop the annoying disconnect issue. So far I:
1. Verified that the system clock was within a second of actual time
2. Verified that the timezone is correct for my location
3. Installed a new NIC
A. Disabled all optional items, such as all of the windows sharing crap, etc.
B. Disabled Network Discovery
C. Set statc IP
4. Shut off System Restore (Don't do this.. I had no reason to believe this would actually fix my issue... just 'throwing parts' at it)
5. Turned off all other OS optins that I'm not currently using, such as remote access, etc.
6. Other similar things like above that I just can't remember right now :-)
I still get disconnected at random intervals. Sometimes it's withing 15 minutes of connecting, and other times it's an hour or longer. Bottom line is that this is annoying.
My next step is to bump up the processor priority on this computer. Again, i have no reason to believe that this willl actually work, but i'll try anthing legal and/or partially moral at this point.

Have you tried eliminating the router ?

Yes, I put this computer in front of my entire network, no go. I didn't think that would work, as I have this adjascent to a similar machine that works just fine.
New stuff:
1. Replaced the onboard NIC with a PCI NIC= No Go
2. Created a new Vista account and played from there= No Go
3. Tried this with UAC On and Off= No Go
4. Kicked and screamed = No go
Oh, this might be interesting.. My client log (C:\Program Files (x86)\Darkfall\data) consistantly has messages similar to:
[03:28:59.882 (error) [Modules::Application] [1] 62914358
[03:28:59.882 (error) [Net::ClientConnectionManager] lost connection to server
Anyone with any other ideas? I think I'll try a different video card...as i really don't know what else to do.
Oh yeah, I should probably mention that I have 2 clients on this machine and they both have the same problem (one for EU and one for NA). I'm not running them concurrently, but one at a time. They both disconnect with the error #2, and similar messages in the client.log.... (only the number differs) 'Application] [1] XXXXXXX'
