I've been wanting to fraps fights on darkfall, but can never manage to get a good fps out of them. I'm seeking fraps veterans for help. I play at a constant 150 fps, but when I turn on fraps fullscreen, it goes to 20 fps. If i record at half size, it records at 45. Both are not that fun playing with.

I play at 1680 1050, and run on a quad 2.5ghz, and 9800 gtx with 4gb of ram.

Are you trying to record sound too?

You need to set the processor affinity for Fraps.

Open taskmgr.exe as Administrator.
Click on processes tab.
Right click on fraps.exe *32, left click on Processor Affinity.
Select all CPU cores EXCEPT the last core.

This will make it run as best it can.

How do you open up taskmanager as an admin? Whenever I try to set affinity on my fraps, it says access denied but allows me to set any other affinity.

I set the FPS to 29.97, and the sound off, in full size. This way it records as fast as you can see, and doesnt take up more space than needed with the sound, since I use music anyway.

I've found that it will cut the in game FPS to whatever I have it set to record as, so if you have a monster HD, you can probably set it to 60 and have better performance.

Also, if you have it record to a different HD that you are operating from, you will get better performance, as long as it is a SATA 3.0 drive.

Bear in mind you have to do that every time. Unless someone has a work around?

Would it not be possible to hook your s video out to a usb capture device hooked up to a laptop or something.. this way you get to play, you get to capture the video, and you nor the recording suffer for it.
