Chat system isn't too hot, whilst you're typing a bunch of role play crap in public chat you'll likely be ganked and looted without hesitation and there's a chance the other guy won't ever read what you wrote anyway. ARAC clans too.

The chat system mostly needs upgrading for roleplay to viable. If you try to talk to someone as it is now, half the time they wont read what you wrote cause its on a different tab and it's a chore to switch between them all the time. The other half, they'll end up reading it like 30 minutes after you said it.

But, if there was say a specific spot that roleplaying happend. Like a tavern, people might be more inclinded to have public open, and yes, ganking could happen. Just a thought, anyways thanks for the info. I guess i gotta look for a good normal clan to join.

There aren't taverns. The reason RP doesn't happen is because the game doesn't force people to follow the lore at all and therefore people don't.

There are houses, you can't build them from scratch but you can fill them up with stuff like a garden, work benches, etc and couches are suppose to be added. You can share the houses with people. The houses aren't safe zones people can break into them by destroying the door. Houses also have an upkeep cost. There are 4 different types of houses. The only sit ability is rest.

RPing is an art. I tried a couple times and then mid-sentence i just stopped and said fuck it i sound like a retard. Some people can pull it off though ;)

Houses are possible.

Deeds are pretty rare though.

Actually, these guys are probably one of the few clans that actually RPs. Probably won't work if you don't like pirates though :ninja:

No. It doesn't happen because this game doesn't even have local chat (Chat for a small radius). Which is pure fail, considering every MMO game has it.

Shadowbane did not force players to RP; it did not even reward people for doing so, yet there was a very large and active RP community.
