I really believe that DBC were the best of the bunch, and the rest of Anvil were decent. Definitely better than the rest of Hyperion.

That being said and the point conceded, apparently the details / tactics / numbers of the siege at Tiquiya are different depending on which side you ask, so I'm not looking to get into a "no, you" contest with you. From my perspective, it was a slow whittling down by Hyperion due to their clans waiting outside to move in and replace the ones that got low, not an "anvil-led slaughter" as you'd have people believe.

I don't doubt Anvil would win in any engagement with Hyperion in small scale pvp. I don't understand the merit there though.

Having been at the seige myself, I can safely say that SOTA got fucking smashed on their initial assault on the harbor entrance. This was probably the only time the entire night that there was an even fight at Tiquiya. Unfortunately for VG and its allies, the YC had been enlisted by Hyperion to attack Aputaun so that the night became:
CotP vs All of YC
VG vs the entire Hyperion Alliance
As a result, even though VG was able to repulse and devastate the initial attack force, the defense was unwinnable as Tiquiya's other entrances were being swarmed with numbers 2-4x greater that the initial attack force. At its peak (after 26+ clans decked VG), Hyperion had maybe 4:1 odds against VG.

It is worth noting though that on the second set of seiges, the Hyperion alliance was defeated by VG, CotP, and allies and Hyperion only took its cities due to a bug in the system that made ending a seige impossible. Should VG have lost its city when it got zerged the first time with 4:1 odds? Of course. But did Hyperion get beaten despite more than 2:1 odds on the second set of seiges? Even more so.

Not to mention you caught them resting with low stam. I applaude your prowess. If its a fight you're looking for, by all means come on by, and we'll see who is still standing in the end. The fact that you even made a post bashing us speaks volumes about your character buddy. But if thats what gives you wood, then troll on Nancy.

When we got 26 wardecs simutaniously, we knew we were outnumbered. But we still fought the entire 6 hours. Our clan had 220 at the time. It was one of the largest but it couldn't match Hyperion's numbers. You won that first battle because of numbers. No one is arguing that you won.

Why did you have more than us?

1) You picked the time. It was around midnight EST on a weekday. Which meant that none of our euro players were online and very few east coasters were still up. I was one of them. If we knew an attack was incoming, we could of had easily another 30 people online.

2) You had a seperate alliance attack our ONLY ally. Yssam Coalition got raped that first seige, but they held up CotP enough that we couldn't get back up.

3) You had people enter from multiple entrances. Harbor. North Beach. I really loved that city, but with so many entrances and levels its really does become a numbers game. We weren't even able to hide in the keep, because (as we showed you later) you can hit the top of the keep and jump down onto the keep from the 2nd level.

4) Lag. It was the first fight either side experienced where you simply could not move and aim. You hit who ever was around. Until most of our forces died, both sides were suffering from a slideshow. This also makes tactical defense impossible.

5) Gates weren't fixed until a week after we lost Tiquiya. There's over 10 gates inside the city. They would have slowed you down and kept your forces seperated.

So, basically what I'm saying is that you won the first battle. We technically won the second (AV said fuck you, gave us the hamlet we won, and you kept the city). But we didn't lose because our players were bad. We lost because the odds were stacked up against us. If we had a rematch with just Anvil and VG in Tiquiya, we would win. Especially since they fixed lag, seige mechanics, etc.

If you'd like a rematch, bring your guild out of retirement. We have a city.

We weren't even able to hide in the keep, because (as we showed you later) you can hit the top of the keep and jump down onto the keep from the 2nd level.

4) Lag. It was the first fight either side experienced where you simply could not move and aim. You hit who ever was around. Until most of our forces died, both sides were suffering from a slideshow. This also makes tactical defense impossible.

5) Gates weren't fixed until a week after we lost Tiquiya. There's over 10 gates inside the city. They would have slowed you down and kept your forces seperated.

So, basically what I'm saying is that you won the first battle. We technically won the second (AV said fuck you, gave us the hamlet we won, and you kept the city). But we didn't lose because our players were bad. We lost because the odds were stacked up against us. If we had a rematch with just Anvil and VG in Tiquiya, we would win. Especially since they fixed lag, seige mechanics, etc.

If you'd like a rematch, bring your guild out of retirement. We have a city.

EXGS heavily relies on numbers, but they do have a few decent players. Hell if I could name em but im sure they exsist.

I had one run from me from near Necromongers city (Shitty Shitty was his name I think).. Chased him back to EXGS city, made it painfully obvious I left my 3 party members back there, and still he refused to fight me. Then he said message Sraa something or other.. And "Apollo PvPing" was funny and they didnt come help him because they thought he was lying..

The only reason we fell back is because we were running out of stamina faster than we could replenish and couldn't even loot our kills because there were so many of you. We killed easily 25-30 people and only lost two, one of those due to overextending and the other due to being cut off from us and surrounded by a very large number of Exo.

A large number of Exo were geared and looking to fight in response to us, at least 3:1 odds for us with reinforcements constantly flowing to the fight for you guys.

I find it really funny how everyone talks trash about OMG you mass recruited, and you outnumber us 5:1 or some shit. Last I checked 90% of you belonged to some of the largest alliances on EU, which systematically destroyed clans such as my own with overwhelming numbers. About the only legit clans I ever witnessed perservere against overwhelming odds were Outnumbered and The Mercs, and we all know that story. So keep arguing and ridiculing us for taking some initiative and trying to beef up our ranks, but in the end, he who has the numbers in this game, nine out of ten times, wins the fight. All you need do is look to Hyperion, Death, Afghan, whatever. So whether we whip your ass with sheer numbers or in small skirmishes, regardless of skill, a win is a win. I for one can deal with losing, can you? I say stack the odds in your favor if you want to insure victory. Its funny isn't that one of the most basic tenets of war?

I'm not really sure why you're telling me to chill out, in fact, I'm pretty stress free right now. I'm not flaming you guys at all by the way, in fact if you look back a few posts you will see that I commended you guys for your chivalry. Let me ask you this though hypothetically speaking, if I come raiding your city/hamlet with 20 guys and you have 80 guys sitting around, are you only going to tell 20 of them to come out and fight me? Last I checked, enemies don't arrange their confrontations and agree on numbers and details. I have admitted in more than one post that you guys did in fact beat us the other night, even though we chased you off with overwhelming numbers. You had 8 times the body count that we did, which speaks for itself. I am a firm believer that fights are not fair, and people tend to use whatever is at their disposal to insure victory. A perfect example would be the U.S. military using daisy cutters and carpet bombing. Yeah its overkill, but shit goddamned if it doesn't get the job done. I have all the respect in the world for small guilds that conquer insurmountable odds. I also have respect for people that recognize their weaknesses and use every asset available to get through a scrape. My hat is off to The Black Shields. Just to clarify, about our fight, it seemed like you had a lot more than a few naked harvesters. The only reason we fell back is because we were running out of stamina faster than we could replenish and couldn't even loot our kills because there were so many of you. We killed easily 25-30 people and only lost two, one of those due to overextending and the other due to being cut off from us and surrounded by a very large number of Exo.

A large number of Exo were geared and looking to fight in response to us, at least 3:1 odds for us with reinforcements constantly flowing to the fight for you guys.

we have had exactly one large fight so far, and that being with The Black Shields. And once again, I'll say yes, we lost to them. We were unprepared and naked. They got our farmers, then we chased them away. Don't worry, payback is coming for that one. At least I can say that The Black Shields don't trash talk when they win or lose. They say good fight and welcome the competition.

Actually I was there too. You killed six or seven of our guys as they were farming shades, and a few more harvesters on your way to our city. Then you killed a few more nakeds on your way up the ramp, including myself. Then we geared and chased you away. But hey, you're right we only killed two of you while you were running away. That's not how I remember the first fight, but O.K. The second time you guys came wasn't too long ago. You only brought 8 and you only incapacitated one of our guys and we killed 2. You bit off more than you could chew that day. Not too sure how many we had that day ~10 I think.You guys almost got me down when you were all focused on me. Again the water saved my life. Just as it did the first time you guys came by. Come by again some time always fun fights. Stay classy San Diego. ;)

Yes lets. As I said before I disagree with your numbers as well as your math, but agree that you guys were outnumbered and did very well. It was impressive.

Perhaps I should rephrase -- We incapped at least 10, but weren't able to push past the wave after wave of enemies coming towards us -- It was impossible to gank our kills, or loot, because you had so many people just continuing to come at us.

The numbers are about right. It was at the edge of ice golem spawn. we continued to kill your geared guys with help from the mobs. At this point you killed our first guy.

The fight at the Deathless Mages spawn in Elflands was ridiculous lol. You guys got Kegadin there. Very good kill, this was one of the few times where he didn't say he was planning on dying beforehand. Most of the time he says, "Alright guys, keep going. I'm gonna do something stupid now." Example: Yesterday when he tried to kill Sraa Lok in the middle of 15+ Exodus Syndicate during our retreat.

The 2nd kill you are talking about was on me, William Wallace. Also a good chase and kill; Ace Ninja(?) is a very skilled archer. I thought the fight was over after I lost sight of your guys. So, I separated from the guild, changed direction, and went towards the crater to go stir up some SMALLER-scale PvP (can't stop the journey with a retreat). Jumped off to heal my mount, looked up, and I still had you guys on me. You're relentless lol. I definitely will not underestimate your determination anymore. Actually I had a similar scenario tonight with you guys, didn't stop running till I was all the way home lol.

I've 2v10ed Exodus, 420, Imperil, Black, and Quadre Quietus' cities and farmed them several times each.
