Not necessarily, if you just limit and differenciate the skills you get at the begining and make it so it's a good idea to work in teams to have a complementary set of skills to work from. I didn't say anything about having no restrictions, you can have it according to the set of skills you use, and make the wrong choice by it, with a thousand skills to choose from for example. I might get flamed for even mentioning this game in here but I think that's how Guildwars worked, and you could get new sets of skills by doing quests or getting them from dead npc's or in darkfall's case, players.
