In the end it comes down this: to gain weight you must intake more calories than you use in a day. If you don't use many calories, because you are crippled, you need to intake fewer calories. So unless your handicap is that you always feel hungry or are too stupid to understand that you are gaining weight, being crippled is not an excuse for gaining weight. Not that that is what you are saying, but I have heard that argument way too much. There are exercises that lady can do and she could, obviously, improve her diet.
