LAN Party, need game suggestions!

Ok folks, hosting a LAN party very soon, and I need some game variety. You of course have your Age of Empires 2, but most of my other games consist of Source mods, and L4D, and AVP2. I need some nice suggestions! Older games and easy to acquire games are better, and newer games that are a bit difficult on anything but new systems are also avoided somewhat, but really any suggestions are helpful.

Deathmatch on The Hill country map. Population limit 200 iron age reveal maps.

Flatout 2 is in my opinion the far best LAN game and I don't even enjoy racing games normally, and I guess that Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is also a quite safe bet.

Starcraft: Broodwar, Warcraft 3 (lots and lots of retarded fun-maps on bnet), Quake 3, Counter-strike (any), Civilization (if you have 12+ hours to spare), Street Fighter 3, Red Alert 3 or Men of War.

Also Rune: Halls of Valhalla.

Some suggestions:

FarCry
Easy to get, will run on most computers now days, and is a surprisingly fun FPS to play. A bit different than CS and Quake, with more open ended maps and vehicles. Sniping for example makes more sense here than in most other classic LAN fps.

Warcraft - Dota
Also easy to get. Just install warcraft 3 and download the newest map here: http://www.getdota.com/. Some people prefer one of the older maps as well, but can't remember which it was.

Rune
Will run on a toaster now days. One of the very best LAN games. A perfect game to set up a tournament in, especially on the arena maps. Viking themed FPS with swords, axes and decapitations :p

Homeworld - Cataclysm
Takes a round or two before everyone feels comfortable with the research and upgrade system, as well as using the strategic map to move around, but once you get into it, it is a very fun LAN game. Playing in teams is especially fun, and then backstabbing your teammate at the right moment :p

Nah.. Badem is obviously one of those popular guys who has his life sorted. I thought there where mostly no-life nerds hanging on these forums, but I think Badem established that he is not one of them now. I know I'm in awe of him at least. He must get laid all the time, while we waste our time on computer games :(

The map design for 2 was better but that was the only strong point. Anyway the only map you ever needed on 1 was jockey. Favoured each species equally.

Go to a pub do your thing there then go back to your home and start lan-ing.They would need to sleep over for about 2 days so that you give it some time for the hangover to go away. Its fun.


Try playing rts like age of empires,red alert 3.Find these kind of games where co-operating with teamplay can do a lot of difference.
