Was googling Thief 4 and seemingly it is true, I really hope this doesn't fail since Thief is my favorite gaming series.

Eidos-Montréal is excited to unveil, their previously secret second title in development at the studio, as Thief 4, the next instalment in the legendary series!

The original Thief title revolutionised 1st person gaming and defined a new genre of stealth based game play. Thief has consistently met with critical acclaim, with the revered series winning awards for its originality in gameplay and sound design. Thief’s list of accolades includes a birth in GameSpy’s Hall of Fame and GameSpot citing Thief as one of the Greatest Games of All Time. Thief’s script and ground breaking sound immersion design was recognised by The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and was awarded its prestigious Outstanding Achievement in Character and Story Development award and nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design.

"We're in the early development stages for Thief 4, but this is an incredibly ambitious project and a very exciting one. It's too early for us to offer any specific game details, right now we are focused on recruiting the very best talent to join the core team at the studio and help us make, what we believe will be one of the most exciting games on the market."

Played Thief 1, 2, 3. Absolutely loved 1 and 2. 3 was a disappointment but still had it's moments. Taking into account modern game trends I'm guessing Thief 4 will be the dumbed down, even more consolesque version of Thief 3. And considering Thief 3 was the dumbed down and consolesque version of Thief 2 I doubt there'll be much left of the original franchise.

Why do you think I put her up in the attic in the first place?

She's a zombie and you hid her in the attic to keep it secret, and feed her people who come to have sex with her?

So having sex with a dead lady in a wheelchair is a new feature in Thief 4?

theif rocked. I LOVED that there was no cross hair for the bow. You had to calculate distance. I was awesome with that bow. Could do headshots from so far away, that the guy could fit into the metal O for the aiming site.

How you manage to misspell Thief after it has been mentioned at least half a dozen times in this topic is beyond me.

Only played Thief 3 for Shalebridge Cradle.

Other than this, they killed the series with 3 between taking out the swordfighting (which had better collision detection that M&B), changing the thief to a female, and pretty much dumbing it down for the xbox tards.

Errr... female? Garrett is still Garrett in Thief 3. And I didn't mind the taking out the swordfighting stuff, backstabbing with a dagger is much more thief-like.

1. Beat the game imo.
2. Then you are no different then the xbox ADHD trash.

Theres no reason they couldn't have kept the sword while adding a dagger for backstabbing. It'd be no different than the blackjack.

Uhh, I beat the game. You don't turn into a female at the end of it. What's your point?

And thinking a dagger suits a thief character who isn't supposed to kill anyone anyway more than a sword, makes me xbox ADHD trash?

Also why should a thief carry half an arsenal with him? It ain't Assassin's Creed we're talking about here.

I doubt it's being developed by the same team from the earlier games is it? Or the new team at least want to stay true to the game's spirit? I'd abandon all hope already, if the expectations are low enough you can't really get disappointed.

My thoughts exactly. Besides. They only just announced development. Still gonna be a couple years till release. No use getting your hopes up already, we all know where that leads *cough*

um, wouldn't xbox live kiddies rather sword swing mindlessly? It sort of is like playin L4D, but with swords.

a blackjack that fits in your pocket, a sword, and a bow is not an arsenal.

why even bother playing games like that? Just break into real peoples homes dressed in black and steal valuables. If the residents give you any trouble just slice em' up real quiet like and make your escape.

Real Life > Thief 1,2,3 combined

Only problem I see is the well known Real Life sequence, developed by Penal Systems.

You probably heard about it, it's called "Prison Rape". I think the long awaited mod "Surprise Buttsecks" is now available for free on Steam.

I meant, if he had both a sword and a dagger. And a blackjack. And a bow with 4 different arrow types. And jugs of oil and holy water. And flashbombs, firebombs, gasbombs, flashmines, firemines, gasmines etc etc etc.

I love Thief. Too bad gasbombs made #3 too easy since you had so much cash on the hardest difficulty anyway.
