I've recently reinstalled EvE and now I can't seem to find a way to start the game up again. I lost the shortcut on the desktop and I'm looking through the AppData>CCP>EvE folder right now to no avail.
I'm using Vista.
Help?
Also, what race do you recommend? I'm a pureblood Gallente (sp) but I was wondering if there was a better race to play as.

Nobody? I'm asking what folder I should open to run EvE...

I'm fully patched to Apocrypha, so that might perhaps have something to do with it, but for me it's:
C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe
I just tested it and it worked. This is in Vista 32.

I use xp, so I have no idea how vista works or what it has. But if vista has a search function (which they probably do), just search in "all files and folders" for EVE. All files and folders with the word eve should show up. From there your going to have to find the right icon or something of that sort that will launch the game.

Hmm...
in WoW the 'o' is lower case because its a particle word in the english language.
World of Warcraft.
Why apply it to Eve? or ('EVE')

Eve is an acronym for Ergee vos Eurikun, so it should actually be EvE.
The developers are Polish and I speak Polish.

The race you start with matters little now. You start with so few skill points now that you can pick whatever race you want and immediately cross train with little to no loss in train time. You now start with something like 50k skill points (not sure since I have not tried creating a new pilot) and train at double the regular attribute pace till you reach 1.5 million SP's at which point you go back to training at the base rate determined by the skills primary and secondary attributes.
Also I am pretty sure the developers are Icelandic but I could be wrong on that and that they are just based out of Iceland.

They are Icelandic. No connection to Poland at all.

if you installed EvE on you Vista then hover over the windows icon, then more programmes, then seek CCP then go into that for the Eve files

Yeah, I'm there, but how do I find the launch one?
Holy shit, even my mother is more computer literate than this, and she makes me want to put a drill to my skull when she needs help.

just type "EvE" into yer search box and see what it comes up with, one should eventually be the application launcher, btw are you sure you've installed it and not just downloaded the files for installing

That sounds oddly familiar. Notice my post 11 or 12 posts up.

Why do people call this game "EvE"
it's like E vs E, which is NOTHING.
ITS "EVE" MOTHERFUCKERS. it's officially in ALL CAPS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_online)

Correct. The devs are also Icelandic, yes.

I was playing the game yesterday. When I closed the game there was no shortcut on the desktop and after I searched "EVE" and looked through hidden and visible folders I didn't find anything to run EVE.

Possibly your install failed? When I type EVE into my search box, EVE is the second thing that comes up.

Also, don't go with a pureblood Gallente. The only thing they're good at is leading player corporations, as they've got a load of Charisma.

Why not ask in the EVE forums?

Because I'm only on my trial membership and I'm signed up for like eight forums right now.
Also, this is the second time I've tried to download this game and the same thing has happened twice now.

Any of the bloodlines that have fairly high charisma suck for most applications. High perception and willpower is good for most people.

Achura. Not that I play with one personally, though. However, they're the best to start with.
To be honest, none of the attribrutes matter that much after all if you train up your Learning skills etc. Having bad base attributes will just make you train a bit longer than someone with good base attributes.

You can create a character that qualifies for learning to pilot indy's straight up - but on a trial you can't train the skill, which is a bit of a pain, as it's the best starter build for afk farming high sec ore
Just buy a game time card and make one of the indy starter characters - alt tab it and you can make enough isk to buy another card within a couple weeks easily, while you work on your combat pilot account - then keep alt tabbing the miner as you play your main, get him high enough and you can sell the miner account for a ton of isk to outfit your main account, all within the CCP rules
When your miner gets enough skills, he can make more than enough for cards for both accounts, so zero monthly fee

This is the Darkfall forum.... Granted, it IS Off-Topic, but don't you think this would be better suited for... Oh, I don't know? the Eve Forums?
