i really like the way great clubs look. i started last week and have been running with the reccomended polearm weapon type.
now the patch notes say that other weapons had their range increased.

i want to switch to great clubs because i think they look sweet. and i don't really love the way polearms animation plays.

with the recent changes, are great clubs still at a disadvantage?
what kind of special effects do great clubs have? (ie, polearms have knockback - i think lol)

My clan mate went greatclubs. They were doing ok before the patch, and great after. What most people notice is that GC have a lower average damage than others like Gswords. But, when you go up against someone in armor, the damage type is bludgeoning, so armor is least resistant to it.

are there any websites out there that have info about darkfall you can read? like game mechanics and weapons and such?

Greatclub range is still a bit smaller than greatswords or polearms. It is slower than greatswords. I don't think bludgeoning offsets mentioned disadvantages....yet

The stronger the armor, the more important bludgeoning is... I think it may start to make a serious difference with scale armor. The problem is I rarely fight anyone in scale. Usually it's banded at best.

The range is about the same as polearms and greatswords now. The difference is still going to be at the very ends of the weapon arcs.

The difference in the damage is GH is a bit lower but it's more consistent and better verse heavier armors. The damage is a lot closer across all two-hands once you start hitting people in plate and up.

so polearm gives you a wider swing, letting you hit more stuff with one swing, or letting you get a hit if you weren't 100% on?

so you could be the same distance away from a guy and hit him with polearm or g.club, but if you weren't pointed at him accurately you would miss with the g.club and hit with polearm?

and when you say damage is better against heavy armor, then you say it's pretty close the better armor you get, what did you mean?
