Guys... i read some posts here and i've seen allmost the same posts as in wow forums.

People complaining or sugesting things for skills/spell to be tuned turned out to be the main thing of demoralising old/experienced players.

Don't get me wrong... the ideea it's awesome that the developers listens to our sugestions... but this does not make the game more enjoyable (many changes on every patch leads to skills/time for players wasted because of the old patch).

example:
i'm using my time online to lvl my pole skill to 100. Let's say that it will take me 2 montsh of casual play.
after 2 months a new patch arrvives and boostes daggers for example and nerfs the pole forcing me to move to daggers...
this patch in staid of helping me is dissapointing me because 2 months of wasted time lvlling poles...

Please try to keep in mind that this afects the old players most, and i asspect from this game to be the elite PVP game atm.

So Pro game or casual as WOW?

What do you guys think?

I think the main problem here is that a lot of times when a nerf is involved they do it to the point where whichever skill or weapon gets the bat seems to not be effective anymore.

The key here is to make it where all weapons have a time and place to be used effectively. At the moment though polearms run the show and until its realized that polearms don't slash to attack(cause the wooden part will break) we will see an overabundance of players using this as the weapon of their choice.

I myself use a pole arm but i think 1-handed and 2-handed swords should be the best weapons in game as they were in real life. Possibly dual wielding swords as well. The fix for these though will need a little bit of thought though and i think everyone should post ideas so all weapons are balanced.

I hope they carefully weigh the decisions carefully and stand to their guns and do not listen to the whiners and such to much. They cant make everyone happy and need to stick to a hardcore game like they wanted from the beginning. I've been around long enough and realize that they will nerf this or that and well shit happens. Ive gotten bad end of the stick before and you deal it all comes back around in the end. I find it more enjoying playing the char. with the weapons I enjoy whether they are overpowered or not. Thats my 2 gold pieces on it enjoy.

Exactly

They must very carefuly apply patches (if they want to have something that wow does not have).

The main ideea is:

If you want to get money out from the players, do something that the opposing game (wow) does not have.
This means ENCOURAGE HARDCORE PLAYERS not the casual ones (like wow).

p.s. excuse my english...

I fully understand you and agree.

The game changes can be divided into negative changes and positive changes where negative are bad and positive good.

Negative change is when you take something in some category, which is good (no matter how much better than rest), and nerf it to the level of other things in the same category.

Positive change is when you take all the things which suck in some particular category and improve them so, that these are on a par (not necessarily equal or the same!) with the best thing.

The negative changes are bad because of the problem OP explained in his post - you put some effort and time to some skill and suddenly it becomes useless. It appeases a nerf-crowd, but leaves some people very frustrated.

The positive changes are good because you improve in some way everything, but the OP'd thing, and make these on same level. The user of originally OP'd thing have no reason to cry but the nerf-crowd (probably people, who use other, worse things from the same category) should be glad too, because their thing now works better than before and they can finally compete on the even level. I used should instead of will in the previous sentence, because you can never make whiners happy, so they will always bitch about something (even, when it's ok).

If all people - who think something is broken in game - would stick to that simple rule, we would probably have had more constructive discussions concerning game changes here on forumfall.

I always have been, do and always will be asking only for positive changes, considering some other people's shit sacred (be it a skill, playstyle, weapon type, whatever...). I want other players to enjoy the game too and have the same chances to win as I do. I am not thinking only about me.

But you can easily tell from the posts on forumfall, who plays what and that everyone is trying to nerf the other side, that he is most susceptible to, so he has bigger chances of success. In FFA PvP game this kind of behavior is understandable on one hand but (or because of that) there shouldn't be taken too much heed to it by AV on the other.

I do not see the point, or need to make any weapon 'best'. Situational is more the thing.

I use a shield and a club, against even the best armor I still dish out decent damage. My reach sucks, but I block 99% of incoming damage when I want to.

My wife use a two-handed axe, she gives more damage then me. Especially in PvP where most players move so much that you have to make each hit count. She gets eaten alive by mobs and players that dish out so much damage that even 80% block hurts, a lot.

Some PvP'ers jump us, like lately three Alfar, kills my wife and then goes after me. A short moment later they give up - loots my wife - and runs to find an easier target as I stagger back towards town with 20% stamina, 80% health left.

If I was your wife, I would divorce you.
