Does it level up faster if you shoot people/mobs as opposed to just shooting into the air? Some people say yes some people say no so I'm kinda confused.

There so much BS on thses boards that the only way for you to be sure is to do your own test. Thats what I did. I am now 75 archery and have found a 20% increase if shooting mobs or people versus just shooting into the air randomly.

In terms of speed based on time spent shooting arrows it is faster overall to sit and shoot a wall with a huge stack of arrows and a handful of bows. In terms of how fast you skill up per shot it seems that if you shoot mobs/people you get a slightly marginal increase in skill gain but the running around/aiming/respawn/bank runs/etc all add to overall time spent. Basically one method allows you to waste a huge amount of time/money while the other allows you to make money and snag items in the process. The shooting stuff option also will get you better at aiming at moving targets to learn the arc, flight time, etc.

It don't make much difference.

Costs less money/mats to hit players cause you DO get more of a skill gain for hitting them, just finding enough targets to shoot 15k arrows on might be a problem nowadays.

But if you can afford like an extra 5-10k arrows just shoot them into the air. Goes just as fast cause you can rest when you run out of stam, then just shoot another load of.

So... doesn't really make much different which way you do it.

I found through my own personal testing that it did go faster. However, I'm not a very smart person.
