I wanted to know when parrying against a two hander, is it better to keep a hold of the parry (say the opponent is attacking non-stop) or is it more efficient to block each time the shot is about to connect? This means timing when you turn the parry on and off but I don't know if there is an activation cost in terms of stamina to turn the parry 'on'.

Dont hold the block the whole time... it drains your stamina

Depends on how fast the guy is swinging. People with low quickness you can easily drop block and pick it back up again before their next swing connects.

I'll certainly give it a go in pvp, I find it hard to block, retalliate, block...etc since the movement seems a little dis-jointed and will lock up sometimes. My quickness is low at about 32 so I am hoping when that picks up it will be smoother, is that correct?

p.s. Thanks guys

The block/parry function needs to be increased a slight bit. It deffintely needs to be a little more "snappy" then it currently is.

The current lag time between blocking and parry is too slow. It makes 1-h swing slower than pole arms in essence.

Shield essentially becomes nothing more than to help drain your enemies stamina, however, pots and mana to stamina make this tactic mute.

Furthermore, when you block and the strike back, the delay allows your enemy to strike at that exact same point and since you have to be closer with the 1-h weapon it obviously means you get hit taking 2-3 x the damage that you can deal.

Until the fix that delay, then the shield and sword will not be useful as it should be. Furthermore, they should allow you to thrust when holding the shield up, this would mean that the enemy has to be directly in front of you making it easy to dodge, but allows the shield user to attack while blocking. This would naturally use more stamina maybe.
